5.0 out of 5 stars Reissuance of a great old album, August 17, 2006

This review is from: You're the One (Audio CD)
This is the CD version of (what I believe was) the first Oak Ridge Boys country album (yes, vinyl), "Y'all Come Back Saloon". It contains some of the best early Oak Ridge Boys hits, as well as a little known tune ("Didn't She Really Thrill Them (Back in 1924)") that I think is one of the best of the nostalgic country songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Oak Ridge Boys break through in Nashville, December 1, 2011

The Oak Ridge Boys
"You're The One"
(MCA Records, 1977/1995)
-----------------------------------------------
This 1995 CD is a reissue of the Oak Ridge Boys landmark 1977 album, "The Y'All Come Back Saloon," made after the long-lived gospel act had "gone pop" and started recording secular country music. It includes their first Number One hit, "I'll Be True To You," as well as several other groovy early hits. They sang with sleek vocal harmonies learned from years of singing as a gospel quartet, but weren't quite as slick and popped-up as they got in the '80s. Definitely worth checking out!
