I love this Cd - It's like being present at a dinner party with the celebrities of a generation! It's so informal and casual, Just a piano accompanies the talent - lot's of "Porter" stories - Ethel's a bit loud but the rest are wonderful!!

This rare recording from 1967 at the University of Southern California is a gem featuring Broadway/Hollywood/recording greats Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Ethel Merman, Gene Kelly, and Jimmy Stewart, with Roger Edens on the piano and emceed by Garson Kanin. Each takes a stab at Porter songs they made famous while sprinkling them with interesting antidotal stories and personal remberances of Porter. A must have for the Porter devoutee.
