5.0 out of 5 stars How come the critics always have to be so negative?
Wherever I go, critics always say stuff like "....Rebbie, who can't sing" or "she can't sing, and actually neither can janet" and stuff like that. they diss all the albums, and that's not true. God, i wonder if they actually ever do listen to the albums. Well I truely do love this album. It was the first album by Rebbie that i bought, probably cause it was the easiest to...

3.0 out of 5 stars DECENT.........JUST OKAY
Even though Janet is my favorite Jackson of them all, Rebbie is the only one out of the three sisters that can really sing. Her style of course differs from her two younger sisters. Rebbie never portrayed the sexy side of herself like her sisters but concentrated more on her vocal ability. She doesn't have the best singing voice like Mariah or Whitney but she can...

Wherever I go, critics always say stuff like "....Rebbie, who can't sing" or "she can't sing, and actually neither can janet" and stuff like that. they diss all the albums, and that's not true. God, i wonder if they actually ever do listen to the albums. Well I truely do love this album. It was the first album by Rebbie that i bought, probably cause it was the easiest to find. I first heard Rebbie on 2300 Jackson Street, and I immediatly fell in love with her voice. so i went and picked up this album, and i was suprised. I had never really had a cd where i loved every song like i did this one. Centipede, Reaction, and R U Tuff Enuff, are so hard to find. Anyway, this is a great album and shouldn't be overlooked just cause of the critics or because "it's just another Jackson trying to make it in the music business", cuz it's not, she truely has talent. and if u do like this album, i suggest you get the rest of Rebbie's albums.

it's a shame that Rebbie Jackson's album got overlooked.the title track was smooth.fly away written by her brother the king of pop Michael Jackson is a great song.i'm surprised that he didn't keep it for himself? also bringing back Centipede was great.another classic written by the Genius of Michael Jackson.Rebbie deserves props.she has talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review for "Yours Faithfully" by Rebbie Jackson, November 1, 2004

This review is from: Yours Faithfully (Audio CD)
This is one of my Jackson family favorites. Every song on this CD is a delight to listen to; the tracks are very jazzy and soothing at times. The only track that doesn't fit is "Centipede". Although the song is a classic, it doesn't go with the rest of the R&B songs on this album. My personal favorite is "I Don't Want To Lose You", which really shows that Rebbie actually has a good singing talent, much better than those of her other, more famous sisters, Janet and La Toya. I was a little skeptical when I first purchased the CD, but the second I put it in my CD player and began listening to it, all my doubts went away. Definetely something you should consider getting...

4.0 out of 5 stars Convincing, December 11, 2003

Michael's eldest sister surely has the strongest high voice among the
sisters. She's high in voice, but she's also strong in it. Not whistling along
like Janet. The album was produced by Michael, released on MJJ records, and
features a new version of his song "Centipede" (he wrote it for Rebbie in
the 80s). Good quality and nice songs. "Fly away" is written by MJ too , but is
not catching that much attention. Very interesting: "You take me places" or the
Sheila E. cover "Koo koo". If Rebbie had released another song as a single
than the title track, then this album would have gotten more attention. This
album features also the Men of vizion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true surprise, November 2, 2003

Rebbie is relatively unknown in my country. Everyone knows Michael and Janet and in the 80s we could hear about LaToya and Jermaine but until 2001 I didn't know anything about Rebbie except the fact she is the oldest of the Jackson sisters. So it was a true surprise to learn she has a career on her own, and I think she is really good! I like not only her music but also the fact that she is the "normal one" of the family. She is every inch a lady. Her music is rich in emotions and soothe the soul. I especially like the title track plus Get Back To You, Baby I'm In Heaven, Koo Koo and her first hit Centipede.
I agree with the reviewer who said Fly Away should be avoided, it's not the best track, as far as I know it was some reject from a MJ album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Robs review, March 12, 2002

I recently purchased this album, even though i had never heard any of her songs before. I was curious as i am a big Janet Jackson fan, but i found that this cd is surprisingly good. Rebbie is very underrated, especially in the UK where she is hardly known. The album has a very funky feel to it, and the stand out tracks are Centipede, Play your Game, What you need and I dont want to lose you. However the track Fly Away with Michael Jacksons vocals should be avoided. Rebbie should get more credit.

4.0 out of 5 stars More than two Jacksons in the household, February 20, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Yours Faithfully (Audio CD)
(Note: This is not a CD Single as advertised. I ordered it from Amazon and it has the full compliment of songs. Hopefully they'll change the title here.)

Janet and Michael get all the family glory -- well LaToya gets bad pub and Jermaine used to have his moments -- but there's another tremendous talent nearly unheard of in Rebbie.

I took a chance on this CD after listening to it on Amazon and I was thoroughly impressed. She can really sing and the selection of tunes is excellent and the production is fine.

She can't completely step out of Michael's shadow. He's an executive producer on the album and he wrote and also sings on what I think is the best track, "Fly Away."

The title track is excellent, as is the opening song of the CD. Rebbie and Co. also do a fine rendition of the Spinners tune, "I Don't Want to Lose You."

And to top things off, she throws in her giant 80's hit, "Centipede" to cap the album! Tremendous.

Don't just look towards Janet if you want to hear a great female Jackson singer. Older sis is holding up quite well!

4.0 out of 5 stars make that 2 devoted fans!, February 2, 2000
This review is from: Yours Faithfully (Audio CD)
i just bought this album last weekend, and i already love it. i have always admired rebbie (pronounced ree-bee) jackson, from the first time i heard "centipede" (which is one of my all-time favorite songs). i was curious as to how this album would sound, being that it was made in 1998, and the last album i have of her was from 1986 ("reaction"-another classic). anyway, rebbie (as always) shows materials with a serious dance groove on this album, and one of the stand-outs is "play your game", whih i think sounds reminiscent of groups like tlc. the soulful title track "yours faithfully" is also very good. the ballad "fly away" with michael jackson on back-up is beautiful, and michael and rebbie sound great together. "once in a lifetime love" is another catchy r&b tune that is widely accessible. being such a big fan of rebbie's, i do have to wonder why she is so ignored all the time. i also wonder why professional critics like the one who reviewed this album before the listener reviews always have to be so damn negative. so what if rebbie is 47 years old and chooses to sing pop music? she's great as is. anyway, the only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star rating is because i haven't really gotten to know all the tracks that well yet. i urge many of you out there to give this one a listen, as well as her older stuff. (if u can find it-they are quite unusual to come by nowadays.)

5.0 out of 5 stars HALF OF A GREAT ALBUM!!!!!!!, April 3, 1999
This review is from: Yours Faithfully (Audio CD)
Rebbie is far overlooked in the music industry, and shouldn't be. I really only listen to 5 songs on this set but those 5 songs make it worth it and deserve the 5 star rating. "What You Need" a serious groove that's got it all, "Yours Faithfully" a song that should be sitting on the top of the pop charts, "Fly Away" with Michael in it, it just soars, "Koo Koo" pretty fly track, "Centipede" the best of 84, just simply infectious, catchy as hell, floating backgrounds all produced by Michael. Rebbie, at least you have 1 devoted fan (according to the number of reviews on this page)!!!!!!

At one time or another, I have had all 4 albums of Rebbie; but due to moving, I lost them all. But I can hear most of the songs in my mind. The very first video that I saw in my life was Centipede. It is by far my favorite song of all time. Centipede, R U Tuff Enuff and Reaction are really good albums, but YOURS FAITHFULLY is by the best one yet. The title, followed by the other 10,would fall in my top 20 of my all time. Rebbie, like fine wine, you have definitely gotten better with age. Keep up the good work. Please make many more albums, I just love your music.
