Don't waste your time or money .............., July 24, 2005
This review is from: Do-it-Yourself EXTREME Home Security Guide (Paperback)
Well, we are told first of all to put a fence around the house. The pros and cons of fencing materials follows. "When using wood fencing, only use treated lumber......." "Metal fencing is by far the strongest....""Vinyl fencing won't rot, rust, crack, pit or fade". Folks this is high-tech stuff. There is more! "Cut back any tree limbs from the house....." "Remove any shrubs, bushes and trees that are against the house." Really important stuff......"Do not hide or stop hiding the keys outside."
The entire chapter on alarm systems consists of 31 lines of text including drivel like this "Here are the facts. Most break-ins happen when you are not home." Who would have thunk? The one and a half page "chapter" concludes with this sage advice "Opt for an alarm system that a central monitoring company offers. They can get authorities and emergency personnel to your home quickly.".
Oh, let's not forget the tips for when you go on vacation! "LOCK DOORS." "Set up interior light timers..". "Stop all delivery services...". "Leave your blinds down..."
I really wish that I had not bought this compilation of trivialities..........
