A lot of information in the book!

This book is what we all need for ideals, directions and good common sense, for approaching those jobs that we think we need those high price contractors for, when owning a house. You won't regret buying this one. It's like a good neighbor, there when you need it

This book is basic, extremely helpful and will not bore you. It provides you with tons of detailed plans and instructions. That are easy to read and understand. I just wish they would reprint it ! If you ever find a copy of this book hang on to it, There is so much valuable information in it.

This book is one of the best I've read on the subject of building your own everyday items. It is a must for anybody that wants to get back to basics. It shows you how, step by step, to build everything from your own chicken feeders to your own wheelbarrow

My husband is a handy guy with way too much energy. I saw this book and thought that it might give him some useful ideas and plans. He has really enjoyed it and looks through it every evening before he goes to bed. These are detailed projects for modern homesteaders-greenhouses, root cellars, honey spinners, chicken coops. This book probably isn't for beginners looking for cute afternoon projects!

I originaly bought this book back in the early 1980's. Someone borrowed it and didn't return it. After all these years and living on a large parcel of land in the country. I remembered this book and looked for another copy, which Amazon found for me. It was gently used and still has great building plans and projects for today's farm life.

This book has many great projects to do, though some tend to be a bit 'farm' oriented. Nevertheless, the information in the book is quite useful, especially for a person with 'do-it-yourself' skills. I built the wheelbarrow for a friend, who is using it for his Medieval reenactment campsite.

We have gone through this book and have gotten lots of good ideas. It was a great deal for the price.

WE PURCHASED THIS FOR MY BRO-IN-LAW, WHO IS A WOODWORKING FAN. HE LOVED IT AND HAS USED THE BOOK TO EXPAND HIS HOBBY SIGNIFICANTLY! HE MAKES AMAZING FURNITURE!

Great ideas for beginners, but if you already have a clue as to how things work and are built, it is rather pedestrian. This does not demean the value, but it's simply not very useful to me and I'm glad I borrowed it from the library.
