For a senior citizen who now uses a computer daily for work, hobbies, and teaching after his first 60 years with no experience whatsoever in using computers, many of the tasks are daunting. Without the background computer experience that the younger people grow up with, each new (to me) application is not at all intuitive, and this book enabled me to put together a series of one hour Power Point presentations of 30-60 pictures each in less than a day. This was done using only the book and without outside help. I now have the confidence to use it regularly and receive rave reviews for the clarity of my teaching from young adult people in my class. The pictures with arrows and numbers on the screen are essential to my understanding of the use of the program.

This is a great book for getting an overall understanding of PowerPoint's capabilities & how to use them. While you would likely need a more advanced book in order to become the office PowerPoint expert, if your interest is limited to quickly learning to prepare professional-looking presentations for yourself, with the ability to apply a variety of PowerPoint's capabilities, you should find whatever you need in this book alone.

The book is well-organized, so it is easy to find what you are looking for, & the graphic-intensive format makes learning quick.

Very informative. Full of information and visuals. Easy to understand. Glad I was able to find one for my updated Office program as I have used previous Visually books. Recommend to everyone that wants to expand computer knowledge.

The "Teach Yourself Visually" books claim to be the "Fast and Easy" Way to Learn. I totally agree, I found that when I used one of their books and really learned the software I was spoiled. I got used to the way the books are set up; I love the full color pages and easy instructions with individual tasks. Sometimes I just need to remember how to do one little thing, and with other books I would have to plow through pagers and pages to get what I wanted.
There are wonderful themes in their gallery, and also the book shows how to access other themes online. I was able to format objects better, and use different fills for some of my objects.
Chapter 11 was very helpful as it showed me how to finish, set up and run a slide show, and the keyboard shortcuts in the back of the book were very helpful. I would recommend this book.

This book is very helpful. The only negative is the small images and print on the screen displays.

I am very happy to purchase this item to assit me in learning PowerPoint at my own pace without a teacher. It is the most economical way for me. Thank you Amazon for providing low costs but excellent values books for people all over the world.

This book has a lot of info but not all that I was looking for. It is well designed and laid out but doesn't have EVERYTHING. However, it is a good starter book.

I don't use powerpoint a lot, but I love this book! You can skip right to the parts you need, read that portion, and put it back on the shelf, right where you can get at it next time.
