The book is average overall. It gives examples how to make smaller vacuum forming machine out of parts you probably already own. It provides good information about forming and the processes behind everything. It spends a considerable amount of time talking about plastics. What I disliked about the book is that it failed to teach me why you make the decision on each area of building the machine. The book reads quickly. The writing style of the book is not overly complained with acronyms or industry phrasing. The author does a good job at explain in non-former terms. The book builds up to teaching you how to do thermoforming then fails to deliver on any types of plans. It directs you to a website where you can spend $65 to $100 for plans. Do not expect the book to provide that plans. I felt cheated because I was expecting a book to teach me how to build a full size machine.
