I'm happy for my helmet, I like it a lot and the service when I call them they answer all my question everytime I called. They have a good service.

I purchased this for my 10 year old son to wear snowmobiling. So far it's been great. Some previous reviews had me worried, but it is a very nice helmet at a very nice price.

Following is the correspondence I sent to Typhoon:

I am writing in response to the letter enclosed with the helmet I just purchased for my son. Unfortunately, I am not writing to compliment this item. I am going to keep it, but I am far from satisfied. The visor on the helmet is of sub-par quality, to put it nicely. It was broken out of the box, and I had to remove the visor altogether. The problem appears to be with the injection mold process and design. This visor I have in hand has stress cracks on both sides of the helmet where the plastic prongs affix the visor to the helmet. One of the prongs is broken off, and the one side of the visor pops off in the up position, and sticks out awkwardly in the down position.

It is possible this may have happened in shipping because your double-box packaging does not offer the protection I was expecting. There was no foam or anything other than air between the helmet and the interior of the first box, and the first and second boxes fit together, with no space or cushioning between. So, when the box is dropped on the concrete in shipping, the helmet is only cushioned by two pieces of cardboard, and has room to bounce inside. Had my son's helmet been dropped on the sides where the visor meets the helmet, we might have an explanation for the stress cracks and broken prong. The problem there is that means this helmet has been compromised and no longer meets the DOT standard.

My time is valuable - so I can assure you that I am not going to absorb the time or expense in trying to return this helmet, or get a refund. Fortunately, my son will not be using this for what I would term as high-risk riding, and it will be sufficient until growth requires the next size up. All in all, this item fell short of my already lowered expectations, based on price. If this thing actually had a properly functioning visor and come packaged better, I wouldn't feel like I chose the wrong provider.

This was a surprise to us.
