5.0 out of 5 stars You don't need Sabath, January 14, 2004

Actually, you do need Sabath, but not the song. It's just "Follow Me" from Fundamental Elements... without any vocals. I'm so clueless as to why they put this out, and why they are calling it "Sabath". I gave it five stars, because Youth of the Nation is a killer song. But if you're looking to pick this up because you're thinking to yourself (like I was) "wow! a rare P.O.D. song!" then you're wasting your time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have single for any P.O.D. fan, July 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Youth of a Nation (Audio CD)
2 words best sum up P.O.D.'s "Youth Of The Nation" single: it delivers. While many singles tend to only contain forgetable remix versions and/or pointless radio edit versions (like who cares about a radio edit unless you're a DJ), "Youth Of The Nation" contains 2 gems as its b-sides. There's a semi-acoustic version of the excellent song "Alive." Before I listened to this I was perplexed as to what they meant by "semi" acoustic. But after hearing it once it fell into place, well sort of. They either drop the guitar volume down significantly or they use acoustic-electric guitars with a chorus effect. But you'll be able to hear the difference from the original version. One instrument that really stands out is the drums. You can hear every note crystal-clear along with the cymbals. It really adds to the dimension of this alternative version. I'm even beginning to like this more than the album version.

The final track is a previously unreleased song titled "Sabbath" which I believe can be found on another P.O.D. single (could be wrong about that). This song might take a few listens to appreciate but it will pay off. It has a great guitar riff.

Bottom line: this single is killer. Get it.
