4.0 out of 5 stars Devotional for Outside, Not Inside
Depending on what you want from a devotional, this can be good or boring. If you want something to help you act well, I would recommend this as an AWESOME book for you. If you're going for the spiritual side, this is probably not what you're looking for. This focuses on acting like a Christian, and following God's action rules. There is a little bit of spiritual...

1.0 out of 5 stars Very one sided, even political.
After reading through it, I was shocked at alot of what I read. It is definately coming from a protestant or Evangelical point of view. It really went overboard on sex. Constantly pounding home the "remain a virgin" until marriage point of view but never giving alternatives to those who decide they don't ever want to marry for one reason or another. Also just plain...

4.0 out of 5 stars Devotional for Outside, Not Inside, July 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: NIV Youthwalk Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
Depending on what you want from a devotional, this can be good or boring. If you want something to help you act well, I would recommend this as an AWESOME book for you. If you're going for the spiritual side, this is probably not what you're looking for. This focuses on acting like a Christian, and following God's action rules. There is a little bit of spiritual growth stuff in here, but not much. I wanted the spiritual stuff, and I wasn't satisfied with what I got out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Bible will stimulate youth to read it., June 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: NIV Youthwalk Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
This is a Bible that will stimulate youth to read it. It is relavent to today's issues and has many clear biblical answers to problems that haunt our youth. It will encourage youth to study and ask themselves where they are coming from in their personal Christian walk. As a youth leader the bible studies inside the Bible are fast paced, interesting and apply to today. The whole WWJD culture will grasp on to this Bible.

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT Bible For The Today's Young Adults-But A Few Drawbacks, February 19, 2001
This review is from: NIV Youthwalk Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
I have always tried to read the bible whenever I was in motel like Motel 6 or Holiday Inn and could never get myself past the 1st page because of how boring it is. Now as a book, this translated version of the bible is in plain and simple English that is easy to understand and is done in a way to make each and every story "from the words of god" (provided you believe in that) an interesting short tory that I have loads of fun reading. As a guide to understanding the Christian religion better and its application to the real world, it does an excellent job how each story is related to the everyday things but the problem I have with it is that often they talk about an everyday application that is in one part of the book that is in another part of the book. Another problem I have with it is that it doesn't really quite well explain the short comings that Christianity has in front of modern science other than GOD said so, which is good for already devout Christian, but for recent converts like me, I want it to make sense. But still, this bible is worth every penny and it would make a great gift to a young adult who is confused about the meaning of Christianity. And thanks to the good people at Carmel Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and Drew who gave me this book, things are truly clearer.

5.0 out of 5 stars NIV, August 2, 2009
This review is from: NIV Youthwalk Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
I was looking for a bible that was more my age, something less tween and more for a college student. This was still not what I was looking for but it's a great Devotional anyways. I would recommend it for ages 13-18.

5.0 out of 5 stars bible review, November 25, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this bible for my 15 year old and her unsaved friend. They both have enjoyed reading it. It has brought up many questions from her girlfriend who is not saved and that is always a good thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for teens!, March 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NIV Youthwalk Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
This bible has relevant devotions and covers topics our teens are dealing with. I have now bought this particular bible for four different teens. They like that it is the same translation as what is being used at their churches as well as the highlighted topics. When go to purchase more, this is the one we will get!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very one sided, even political., February 10, 2010
This review is from: NIV Youthwalk Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
After reading through it, I was shocked at alot of what I read. It is definately coming from a protestant or Evangelical point of view. It really went overboard on sex. Constantly pounding home the "remain a virgin" until marriage point of view but never giving alternatives to those who decide they don't ever want to marry for one reason or another. Also just plain false information about condom use, and even though I'm straight I felt alot of hate toward gays in this book. It made it sound like everyone who is homosexual is "struggling" or not satisfied with their lives, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Lots of anti-evolution stuff too, and steering toward promoting creation in science class.

As a parent, I would be very leery of this book. You are really getting a "one sided" version of Christianity with it. It doesn't sem to do much for opening young minds, only closing them.
