Even before There's No Such Thing as a Perfect Wedding was on the market, I knew I had to do another wedding humor book. The word was out that I was collecting unusual but true wedding tales. No longer did I have to interview ministers, judges, musicians, florists and newlyweds. People were calling and writing me.
On my publicity tours, radio talk show hosts were delighted to have me as a guest, because their phone lines twinkled like little stars. It seems that I've hit a topic that people love to talk about, laugh about and read about. Time and again, just when I thought I'd "heard 'em all," I'd get another off- the-wall story. Folks, you can't make up stuff like this. If I put some of these true tales into a fiction book, my readers would roll their eyes and mutter, "Now really!" Don't believe me? Then watch the reruns of some of the national talk shows I've been on.
No, all the anecdotes are not humorous. And they're certainly not all disastrous (brides needn't be fearful to read this). Most are just plain odd. OK, wacky. But, hopefully, this little book will give anyone connected with a wedding a sense of humor about the whole thing, a reason to laugh when plans become snagged.
Advice? It's all here - implied - for I guarantee no bride will make the same mistakes these brides did. She, her wedding party and YOU will create your own glitches.
