From Library Journal
Intended to guide parents through the visual development of children from birth to 5 years of age, this text suc ceeds in being informative, comprehen sive, and well-organized. Especially useful for quick reference are the end- of-chapter summaries and the author's suggestions for aiding eyesight devel opment at different ages. Although the book focuses primarily on the very young, the chapters on nutrition, sight disorders, and the effect of television and computers on vision can be equally useful to older children and even adults. Minor faults are the formal writ ing style and some repetitiveness. A good choice for the informed layper son; recommended for public libraries and collections emphasizing child health. Kimberly E.
