My 6 year old son owns approximately 50 little figurines. I purchased the arena as an organizer and it was worth every penny. All 50 figurines would have been lost if not for the arena. In addition to holding figurines, it can be turned upside down to resemble the dueling field on the tv shows. My son uses a lot of imagination and duels with his figurines using the arena and a lot of sound effects. I have stuffed all of the figurines in it and still manage to close it, and it has not fallen apart yet. We have had it since it was first released ... My son takes it to friends houses to play and it is a favorite to all.

My son enjoys this game and it has helped him at school also. Math is the key to this game. People that write reviews and scorn this game because of witchcraft need to review their childhoods. Even Snow White had witches. Let kids be kids!

My four year old adores the show and has the YuGiOh and Kaiba starter decks as well as several extra cards. Although he doesn't understand how to actually "duel" yet, we play with the cards together almost daily and he knows the names of nearly all of them (close to 100 cards). There are no instructions with the set and so there is no actual "game" that can be played. We thought originally there must be some point to the set because the plastic cards that are included with the set (and also come with each figurine you purchase separately) have little notches in the bottom of the cards that differ between cards. We called the company and searched all over the web and found out that it is just a display toy and carrying case. We were very disappointed. My son plays with it very little. Additionally, the plastic cards that come with the set and figurines are totally different from the dueling set cards - they are "holographic" plastic cards, and while sort of cool, have nothing to do with the TV show or the dueling decks. We would not recommend this toy unless your child really enjoys the little 2 inch figurines.

My 7 year old son bought this 4 months ago. Although is a huge yu-gi-oh fan he found little to like with this toy. Played with it only a couple of times. The cards it uses are totally different from the usual playing cards.

My son loves Yu-Gi-Oh, and cannot be pulled away from the TV show or his cards. But he has hardly touched the arena play set. Some of it, admittedly, is that no one else has it. But it just is not a necessary component of the game. The cards are portable, the arena is not. I wouldn't bother with getting it.

The duel arena is a fun and useful toy for beginning duelists to utilize. It brings an extra dimension to the card game that the playing fields that come in the starter decks don't bring. But, it is a must that duelists become use to the standard paper field, as it is used for tournament play.

Math is key in this game. (We're talking addition and subtraction skills with numbers that range from 100 all the way up to 3000 and above.) So, if you want to improve basic math skills in a fun way, here's a good gift idea. The game will also teach strategic skill, because the way the cards are played and placed onto the field does make a difference to the outcome.

The idea is great but there's no instructions in how to play the game. The cards don't have any information about their defense or attack abilities. You have to figure our a way to play the game.

This was pretty weak, but it is Yugi so my son wanted it. He has played with it a total of 15 minutes since we got it 2 weeks ago. the cards do not fit in the case, and it only comes with 2 characters. And the others from the store do not fit in case either.

This toy is good for older sisters who have younger brothers that play with little plastic Yu-gi-oh guys. Before he got this toy, I was constantly tripping over the guys when they made their homes in my carpet. Needless, my toes and I were very happy when the guys could instead reside in a nice plastic container that has individual cells for each little monster. So, my little brother can keep himself organized, and not have the guys bouncing around in a big plastic box. This toy is reccomended for young boys that like to play with and collect plastic Yu-gi-oh figurines.
Also, my little brother enjoys playing with the battle arena on top. He imagines the monsters coming out of cards and actually battling in front of his eyes. This toy sparks the use of your imagination, and even I (with a little persuasion from my brother) can sort of see the monsters when told vividly what's happening. So even a stiff book-smart sister like myself can be taught the wonders of childhood when shown the projector.

My husband and I were under the usumption that this was a platform to be used with the game, but were we fooled. It is the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. It is only used for carrying and storing figures. So if you are fooled to believe that this is a game save your money. My son and I duel all the time and he often has friends over to duel, but the WASTE has never been used.
