From an adult toy enthusiast
I personally get a kick out of Yu-Gi-Oh. I picked up this action figure because I like the Dark Magician. It looks cool, but as for the durability and/or educational value I'm clueless. It sits beside my TV unless one of my cats knocks it over and steals the staff that it holds. It's a cute thing to put on display.

Teach your kids satanism & black magic
PARENTS PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE watch this show with your kids before purchasing these or any other items related to Yu-Gi-Oh. I was shocked to discover just exactly what this show was when I watched it with my children. It is NOT a harmless copy of Pokemon. Gadzooks, it's just a cartoon series-- it's NOT going to lead your kids into Satanism, human sacrifice, the Dark Arts, or even Wicca. Just relax and get this Dark Magician for your kid when s/he asks for it.I am particularly fond of this character... And this figurine faithfully reproduces him, from his gothy purple armor and pointy little face, to the open-sided robe swirling around his legs. OK, they did give him purple hair instead of blue, but purple suits him well enough. The soft-plastic robe is an extra cool touch-- not only because it looks like he's standing in a high wind-- but because the bottom of it gives him something to lean on, so he can stand up on his own. He's a bit top-heavy otherwise, balanced on those long legs. You'll have to tape the magic wand into his hand if you want it to stay put, but the same thing happens with all my action figures, so that's no surprise.
