"please, give me more...",

This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh! - The Movie (DVD)
You know people are getting way too much into the movie when:
1) A girl starts crying at the end of the movie because it was over and she didn't want it to be. 2) The promo cards given away at the movies caused multiple fights over them. (This actually did happen when I saw the movie.) Anyways, this is definitely the best anime movie that I have ever seen. After viewing the abysmal "Enter the Shadow Realm" series, I was doubting whether the movie would be good... but believe me, it was. Yugi and his friends face their greatest challenge when their arch-rival Seto Kaiba obtains powerful cards from the now retired Maximillion Pegasus. More is at stake this time than a monster card championship, or even the rescue of Yugi's amateur-Egyptologist grandfather. Kaiba's challenge coincides with the discovery of the tomb of Anubis by a team of Egyptian archaeologists. The jackal-headed god is portrayed as an evil sorcerer whom the Pharaoh Yami defeated 5,000 years ago. The resurrected wizard uses Kaiba as a pawn in his plan to destroy the world, with everything hinging on the card game between Yugi and Kaiba. The plot is just one good thing about the movie, though. Yugi and Joey really develop their friendship throughout Yugi's duel with Kaiba. Also, the action is just plain awesome. Overall, any fan of the series will love this movie. A definite infinity/100. P.S. My favorite quote in the movie comes from Seto Kaiba: "Let me get this straight. You're going to defeat me with a creampuff and an elf?" Kaiba does it again- makes you laugh your ass off.

Why are there negative reviews about this movie. It was a very fun picture that was filled with action. how can anyone not like this movie, ITS A YU-GI-OH MOVIE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I heard from another review that a Director's cut version of th movie may be coming. I would pay to see that. The bottom line right now is to watch this movie because it is a good time.

It's time to D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-Duel,

This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh! - The Movie (DVD)
I saw the movie when it was at movie theatres, and it rocked out loud. Don't believe my mom when she said "I could bearly keep my eyes open." When I saw it I could bearly even blink, wait I did not even blink. The movie was the best move ever tied with the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie. It rocks like all other anime. I've read the manga for Yu-Gi-Oh! The guy at the bookstore said it was ment for boys but did I listen, you got it no. I am a girl but the anime/manga is ment for boys. Yes the manga is very graphic but I don't care. I mean I think blood and all that stuff is cool. I love it so don't listen to the untrue reviews. So if you are the anime type this movie is right for you!!!!!!!!!

First of all, i'd like to verify that i'm actually 15 years old, I just didn't want to join just to write a review. Okay, here we go.
I definitely recommend buying this movie. I'll admit right off that this is not the most interesting plot line. To agree with an earlier review, the movie's like a giant duel. However, what it lacks in action it makes up for in comedy. When I first saw the movie, i went with 3 other girls and we had the theatre to ourselves: and we were laughing the whole time. It's a must see for anyone who likes Yu-Gi-Oh. The duels are kind of yawners, but there are some great lines, especially in the scenes with Kaiba and Pegasus. If your not all that interested in the laughs, though, maybe you should just consider renting.

Ive had this movie for a long time now and I still think it rocks. One of the reasons I saw this movie is because Kaiba has a new edition to Blue Eyes White Dragon (Blue Eyes Shinning Dragon). But I wish the movie had more of a plot.

(Before we begin, I'd like to note I'm 13; I just do not have an account to use.)
"Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie" is a bit puzzling. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not, b/c it has a few errors and/or mistakes that I did not like at all. Plus I just plain didn't enjoy some parts of the movie. Errors/Mistakes: 1) The sequence that showed Yugi completely the Puzzle is incorrect, according to the original idea. Yugi did not have all the pieces to the Puzzle, discovering this only after he had assembled the rest of the pieces and realizing that one was missing. His grandfather then presented him with the missing piece, explaining that a boy (Joey, as he as known in the American verison) returned it. Yugi then figures out that Joey stole it from him earlier on in the day (Joey actually threw the puzzle piece into the lake) but luckily returned it. 2) Well, I don't know if I can complain about this, but the dueling was a mess by itself, for the rules and directions of the cards were broken. However, we all know that they always make sure that Yugi wins/surivives/lives. Things I Really Didn't Like: 1) The whole movie seemed like a hour-long duel. That might be pleasing to some people, but I usually like the stories that have dueling set aside. 2) They still managed to give Tea a nice long friendship speech. 'Nuff said. However, the movie did manage to pack in a few lines that I did laugh at. They actually showed a bit more violence and blood. (Some people find that remark surprising b/c they say either YGO has enough violence or I should encourage violence. I do not encourage that practice, thank you very much. As for the first objection, you'd be surprise at all the blood, violence, and swearing the English dubbers had to remove. We see about only an 1/8 of the violence, little of the blood, and no swearing. Some argue that we do hear some curse words b/c in "YGO: The Movie" when Kaiba refers to something as "bull." Must I mention that this movie was created here in America; this was not dubbed, and the creator and designers had nothing to do with this process.) "YGO: The Movie" is not for younger children (The acutal YGO was designed for teenagers 13 and up. The English dubbers just downsized it to a child's level), which is a respect to the original YGO verison. I do not encourage buying this product unless you have seen it and liked it. If you are interested at all in seeing this movie, I recommend renting this movie first, and then decide if you want to buy it. This movie is only for YGO fans, and even then some of you, like me, may not like it.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh! - The Movie (DVD)
I'm sure this will not help that much cuz I have not seen the moive but I've seen part of it on T.V.
Adults do not understand the back round of the show so it seems random. the magic items have power not made clear unless you watch the entire seires. a shadow world and fiend type monsters with dark powers comes on a little strong at first to many adults and me when I first saw it. then again watch Tea duel with cards like shining freindship and happy lover you'd never know that there were such things as zomibe cards. if you think this show is any thing like pokemon your in for a shock, the cute pokemon are no match for the blue eyes white dragon or a man-eater bug. duel monsters are not pets and duelists show little srow at there loss, not to say that duelists do not care for them, all have duel spirt or a card they can conect to. but only being light imges desined by seto they do not realy get hurt or die. true much random shouting of both player gose on but this keeps plot moving and has you on the edge of your seet to know whos noble couse will be won. so I like the show the moive and adults should realy stop judging this stuff with out real proff. |
