3.0 out of 5 stars I still HATE the elemental series of Yu-gi -oh games!, March 20, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh Reshef of Destruction (Video Game)
Elemental, meaning "Aqua, Pyro, Forest, Wind, Earth, and Thunder.
Also, Shadow, Light, Fiend, and Dreams. I mean, a puny Shadow-type Kuriboh can beat a Light-type mighty Blue-eyes White dragon.
That's not all either, buying a card from the card shop costs a fortune! Deck capacity gets on my nerves,so does the "costs" of
cards too! You may be able to use egyptian god cards like the
"Winged Dragon of Ra (Pheonix Mode)" but trying to keep monsters on the field is infuriating, like boss duelists. SOOO HARD, that if you make 1, just 1 mistake, before you know it, he'll use
"Raigeki" and start going midevil on your life points. Lastly, bosses like Sol Chevalsky, Reshef the Dark Being, and the people in the Hall of Eternity have over 15,000 life points!! But aside from that, it's cool! I got to give Konami their props.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the idea, but execution lacks severely, July 3, 2004
By
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh Reshef of Destruction (Video Game)
This is a good idea for a game. I got it when it came out. The idea of having a sequel for Sacred Cards is fine. Yet the execution leaves alot to be desired. The starting deck is definitely for beginners and is difficult at first against the more advanced people in the game (Kaiba (if you could duel him straight away), Rebecca (she's a brat anyway), and at first Duke). You can't get decent cards to start with simply because you have to earn the cards. That's fine. If you could walk in with cards like Jinzo in your beginning deck, the game would be beaten in 15 minutes. Card effects are also changed. Along with this garbage about types. Or whatever Konami wants to call it. If you are wanting a game that follows the true TCG rules, this is NOT for you. If you just love Yugioh, then collect it. The cards that come with it are worth the price alone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Preview of the cards that come with it... (...), June 20, 2004
By
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh Reshef of Destruction (Video Game)
The game's not out as I write this, but since I act as a Duelist Leader for my retailer's weekend Duelist League games, I thought I'd offer up this information. Of course, this is preliminary and subject to some minor level of change. ;) The promo cards included in this game are...

[1] ROD-EN001 : Dark Magician Knight [monster - 7 stars]

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Knight's Title" (GB8-002) is in play. If this card is Special Summoned successfully, select 1 card on the field and destroy it.

[2] ROD-EN002 : Knight's Title [magic/spell card]

Activate this card by offering 1 face-up "Dark Magician" on your side of the field as a Tribute. Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician Knight" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.

[3] ROD-EN003 : Sage's Stone [magic/spell card]

You can only activate this card when there is a face-up "Dark Magician Girl" on your side of the field. Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician" from your hand or Deck.

You're supposed to be able to wager, buy and sell cards (just like in Sacred Cards), so this should help experienced players get knee-deep very quickly. Hopefully, there will be some appearances by faces from the anime which only started appearing within the video games in World Championship Tournament 2004.
