Well, OF COURSE IT'S GOOD!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
I got this CD before seeing the movie, and I was sorta disappointed that the majority of the songs weren't even in the movie. But that's not such a bad thing...All of my favorite songs are on this CD...and that's almost all of the tracks
1: You're Not Me (*****) I am so in love with Kaiba...and this song totally matches him...probably the best song on the CD 2: For the People (*) I really don't like the Black Eyed Peas that much...and this song didn't make me like them any better...It's actually kinda boring... 3: One Card Short (**) I'm not too enthusiastic about this song...I've listened to it a few times, but it's not one of my favorites. 4: Step Up (****) Before the movie came out, I listened to the 30-second sample on the Movie website about 1000 times...this was my favorite song on the entire CD...but it got annoying after awhile...so I only listen to this one occasionally... 5: Shadow Games (****) I love this one! It's sorta mysterious and romantic in a really low-key sorta way...I don't really expect you to get that, but if you do....kudos... 6: It's Over (-) I haven't really listened to this one all the way through, so I can't really say anything productive about it... 7: Blind Ambition (***) This song is just so totally Joey!!! I can clearly see a whole Joey montage when I listen to this. It's bouncy and catchy...kinda like Joey (I don't really expect you to get that either) 8: Great Pretender (*****) The lyrics for this song alone are awesome to just sit down and listen to...It's got a nice flowing tune. 9: How Much Longer (****) I like this one cuz it's mostly about Mokuba...and Mokuba rocks! This song is sorta like Blind Ambition...bouncy and catchy... 10: U Better Fear Me (**) I haven't listened to this all the way through, because it kinda gets obnoxious and annoying...the only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it has a cool opening. 11: Power Within (*****) This is one of my newest favorites. The lyrics are cool, and the tune is cool...and it could either go with Yugi and Yami fighting together with the power of their faith and friendship, or it could work as a cute couple song...I guess... 12: Believe In (*****) The other one of my new favorites...This is actually the theme song for Yu-Gi-Oh GX, of course it's edited to be short enough, but I didn't hear this song until I saw the YGOGX theme on yugioh.com...and long story short, I found it on the Movie Soundtrack...I love it!!! And I totally can't wait for GX to premiere whenever it does... 13: Yu-Gi-Oh Theme [Extended Version](****) This is just the two versions of the theme compiled together into one...enough said... So, happy listening and happy Yu-Gi-Oh...ing!!!

The best Yu-Gi-Oh CD yet!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
I suppose I'll review the whole CD, I've got some time ^^
1.You're Not Me: A great song! It's the perfect Kaiba theme song, and the singer is awesome, and it's a great opener for the CD! 2. For the People: Uggh. Yu-Gi-Oh's fallen into the same trap that Pokemon fell into. Trying to use big names in their CD's. BIG mistake. This song is rap, so it sounds weird next to all the action songs, and it has nothing to do with the series or the movie. 3. One Card Short: AWESOME song. I've loved this song ever since I heard it 2 years ago on the Mcdonald's meal CD's ^^ It's got this old feel that'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy-like. 4.Step Up: Another awesome song (There's too many great songs, I'm running out of words for great) I love the beat and the words, and if you watched the commercials for the movie, this is the song that was played in the background. 5. Shadow Games: The best song on the CD! I love the words, the beat, the sound effects, the meaning, everything! It seems to be a Anubis theme for the movie. Listen to this song first, and you'll be hooked on this CD. 6. It's Over: Unfortunately, I don't like this song either. It almost sounds like rap, and the sound effects hurt my ears >< 7. Blind Ambition: I love this song too ^^ The chorus comes on pretty early, so it gets you hooked, and never gets boring! The beats awesome, and the singer is awesome! 8. The Great Pretender: The chorus is decent, but not as good as Blind Ambition. Still way better than "It's Over" or "For the People" 9. How Much Longer: Decent song again. it seems all the great, OMG songs are at the beginning. Decent chorus, but it gets kind of boring after a while of listening to it. 10. U Better Fear Me: I was kind of downcast at the name, but the chorus is pretty good. The song's pretty good too. Not really great, but decent enough to stand. 11. Power Within: Aah, a better friendship song than some of the friendship songs on "Music to Duel By". Yay! Friendship songs ^^ This one is friendly, without being overly sappy. 12. Believe In: Decent song. I haven't listened to this song too much yet, so I can't really analyze and nitpick it. 13. "Bonus Track": Just a remix of some of the TV show's themes. Very very cool. Yay, evil egyptian psychos running around with evil alter-egos! Definate MUST have for any Yu-Gi-Oh fan. GET THIS CD NOW.

LOVE IT.,

This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
As a huge YuGiOh fan, I of course had to get the movie soundtrack. While there were two disappointing songs, the others more than make up for them!
1) "You're Not Me". Possibly my favorite on the CD, or one of them, at least. This is the absolute most perfect song for everyone's (least?) favorite CEO, Seto Kaiba. It makes you realize that being rich doesn't mean happiness. 2) "For The People". UGH! I'm not totally sure why this is on here. It's a song I might be inclined to like if I heard it on the radio, but the mere fact that they put it on a YuGiOh CD really annoys me. It's Black-Eyed Peas, which should tell you something. And it has nothing to do with the show/movie. 3) "One Card Short". I've always liked this song. It was supposed to be on the first CD, but was cut for some reason. The appearance of this song on the CD makes me wonder if we're ever going to get a disc release of "Panik Attack", but whatever. This song is really a great one, good lyrics, music, vocals... 4) "Step Up". Song they played on the commercials. I LOVE this song! Whoever does it, they sound just like N*SYNC. And even if you never liked N*SYNC, you gotta admit they had good harmony and sound. This song also has cool lyrics and a nice, catchy beat. 5) "Shadow Games". Another favorite. This seems to be an Anubis song, but I loe it anyway. The woman doing the vocals has a grat voice, that's for sure. 6) "It's Over". Another one I can't STAND. This seems to be some sort of rap, but I'm not entirely sure, as I've only heard it all the way through once. Ever since then, I change it as soon as it comes on. Blech! 7) "Blind Ambition". I don't know why, but this sort of seems like a Joey song to me. "Don't wanna be outdone/I wanna be second to none/I wanna be the hero, not a zero to everyone". All in all, a VERY good song. It's one you can get up and dance to! ^_^ 8) "Great Pretender". Really good song, although I don't quite get its connection to YGO. 9) "How Much Longer". Yeah. 'Nother one I don't see the connection with, but it makes a bit more sense than "Great PRetender". 10) "U Better Fear Me". The title's a bit of a turn-off at first, but it could be worse. It could be "U betr ph34r meh" or something XP. Anyway, this is another Anubis song. Why he gets two songs when his appearance in the movie was only, like 15 minutes, I have no clue. This one's not as good as "Shadow Games". Doesn't even come close. But on the other hand, it's WAY, WAY better than "For the People" and "It's Over". 11) "Power Within". Pretty good song. Friendship song. Not mushy or sappy, but still okay. Not as good as "Believe In", or the ever-famous "We'll Be There" From 'Music to Duel By,' but it's cute. Only thing that bothered me was "The power within can make the Pyramid of Light shine forever". Uh, hello? Bad thing! Consistancy error. =/ 12) "Believe In". Another one of my faves. I like this song as much as I like "We'll Be There". It's cool. The woman singing the second verse sounds a little like Megan Hollingshead, but it's not. Good. That'd be scary. But this is a really good song. Much more upbeat than WBT, and less sappy. I love it. 13) This one's a re-mix of the theme. Or something. Whatever.

Best CD yet, keep em coming,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
I'm an total Yu-Gi-Oh! fan! Ask any of my friends. So here's my rating of the tracks on this soundtrack:
1.) You're not me: 10/10, this song is about Kaiba being angry that Yugi keeps beating him. Quite a cool tune, this tune you can definately sing to. I love it, it's my 4th favourite song on the CD. 2.) For the people: 0/10, the only song on the CD that I hate. I'm not a Black Eyed Peas fan and it hasn't got anything to do with Yu-Gi-Oh! 3.) One card short: 8/10, has a kind of old tune. Nice, I heard this song before I got the CD. I think it was supposed to be on Music To Duel By. I wonder why they took it off. 4.) Step Up: 10/10, this is my type of music. It has strings and rock music together. I like that it's slightly classical but really cool at the same time. Reminds me of be Justin Timberlake! The lead singer has a really high voice. My 3rd favourite tune. 5.) Shadow Games: 11/10, this is the best song on the CD! It has a lovely slightly Egyptian tune at the beginning and the lead singer has a really cool, strong voice. I haven't seen the movie yet but I think this is a Anubis song. It's not totally rock music but I still love it! It's worth getting the CD just for this song. 6.) It's Over: 7/10, cool tune, again I haven't seen the film so I don't really know what it's about. 7.) Blind Ambition: 10/10, love this one. It reminds me of Time 2 Duel. It also reminds me of Joey for some reason. The Deleted rule! This kind of sounds like old rock music but it's still one of the best! 8.) Great Pretender: 9/10, quite cool. The lead singer has such a cool voice. Too bad I hadn't heard of him before. I can never remember the words to this song. Another song that reminds me of Justin Timberlake. 9.) How Much Longer: 9/10, at first when I heard this song I thought it was One Card Short and I was ready to sing Life's just a game! Not one of the best, the chorus is a bit repetitive. Lyrics are really good. Bridge has an excellent tune. 10.) U Better Fear Me: 11/10, 2nd favourite tune. If you like 60's rock music you WILL LOVE this song. I do. Another song worth getting the CD for. Semi chorus and chorus's are different each time which I think rules. The piano in there really tops the song off. Excellent you have to hear this one! Another Deleted song! 11.) Power Within: 9/10, a nice relaxing tune after the last one. It's nice and peaceful and has a cool message. Always believe in yourself. 12.) Believe In: 7/10, tune sounds like it's been trashed up, like the guitars are broken, but the verses are good. On the second verse I thought Megan Hollingshead is singing (Mai's voice actor). It's an OK tune except the broken guitars! 13.) Untitled Track: 6/10, I don't know why they called it the Untitled track because it's pretty obvious that it's the Yu-Gi-Oh! Theme. To be honest I wasn't totally impressed. The one on the Music To Duel By was much better and longer. This one didn't have the Egyptian music at the start or the chorus of singers like the other one did. Altogether the CD is pretty good. Make sure you listen to Shadow Games and U Better Fear Me! It would have been better if they had put some battle tracks on it. This CD is a must buy!

Yugioh-The Movie(^.^),
By Fairies Gift "Fairies Gift" (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
hmm...were do I start? Oh yeah! Yugioh the movie soundtrack is a lot more better for hearing than 'yugioh- music to duel by.' So don't get discouraged to buy it just because you didn't feel the first really hit the note.
Many of the songs on the album aren't just for one solem character. They can transfered through all of them really! but anywo here goes my attempt at a review: 'You're not me' is by far my favorite song, and it ofcourse is another theme song for our favorite blue-eyed CEO: Seto Kaiba! This song goes really indept with Kaiba's character and the way he truly see things. NO he's not really a block of ice you know... But there he dedicates a little part prob. to Yugi, the pharoah, and ofcourse Tea(Anzu) for being the sole ones who try to advise him to be part of the gang! 'One card Short' is definately a song all duelist from the show can relate to, especially Joey! There's a part in there for Yugi(line:is what happens next in your control/do you choose the cards from your own hand)and one for Kaiba(line:are you doing what you want or what you've been told/ or are we just puppets in a masterplan?)this song was probably designed for the Duelist Kingdom season when Pegauses forced Kaiba battle it out with Yugi, in a tug of war duel. But Nonetheless, it is also perfect for the movie since Anubis takes over as the evil bad guy!(0.o) 'The great pretender' although most say it has an akward sorta boy band ring, it's the lyrics we should be listening to! This songs definately one for our destined hero Yugi! It's not a bad song at all...you just really have to be patient with it and ofcourse be a Yugioh fan, cause just being an Anime wont be enough 4 this one(>.<) 'How much longer' my second favorite song is made out for us fans and ofcourse all the inexpierienced duelist in the show such as Mokuba, Tristan(Honda),and Tea(Anzu). It also has a strong influence on Mokuba's character who want's to feel the sun and see his brother who in all scene's never smiles, be the one he grew to know and care for!Just this song I give it five stars(*.*) The other songs are great to but won't get to specific on them (-.-) So Overall this album is awesome, perfect for the Yugioh fan, a fan of music, or just the Anime fan in all of us!

A Seto Kaiba fangirl's review,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
First off, I just want to say that if any of this seems biased, it's because I'm a HUGE Seto Kaiba fan. Now, to the review.
1-"You're Not Me!"-One off my favorite songs of all time. IT IS NOT A YUGI THEME!!!! It is such a Seto theme I can't believe anyone could attach it to Yugi. Anyway, I like the part: "Please take me as I am/ This isn't what I planned!" 2-Don't know what the heck this crappy song (if you can call it that) is doing on the CD. 3-"One Card Short"- Good song. Makes me think of Joey."I'm always one card short/Always one day late" 4-"Step Up"-Nice beat, nice lyrics. 5-Sounds like Ishizu.YUCK! 6-I don't think I've listened to this one. 7-"Blind Ambition"-Yet another one that makes me think of Joey. Good one. 8-"Great Preteneder"- Personally, I think this song really explains what Seto's like on the inside. LOVE IT! 9-"How Much Longer"- This one is about Mokuba. He's talking about how he has to work for Seto and all he wants to do is play. 10-GAG! 11-Haven't really listened to it. 12-Ditto 13-Nice remix of the theme song. I like it a lot. It's slightly different from the actual theme song, but for the better. Anyway, I hope this helps! A Seto Kaiba Fangirl

AWSOME!- by darkravenblood05,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
OKay, this is an awsome cd. Totally luv it! One of them things you listen to inthe car and crap, you know.
Anyway: 1. For the People- LUV IT! Its great! Never really heard the whole thing but I think its got something to do with Yugi and how he used to be before he met Yami. 2.Your Not Me- Another great song. This ones about Kaiba and how pissed he is at Yugi for "preaching" all the time about the heart of the cards and stuff. 3.One Card Short- Okay. About Yami and how he always gets in ruts when he's dueling. 4. Step Up- This is the song WB featured in the trailor. Its a good song, but like somebody else said, they sound kinda like N*SYNC. (BLECH! *skin crawls*) 5. Shadow Games- Again great song. Sounds like Yugi or Yami or somebody talking about how damgerous shadow games are and how they got to stop. 6. Its Over- LUV IT! Really good. Definitly about Yami, and yeah it is R&B. 7. Blind Ambition- Funny song. Great one to dance to and stuff. * thumbs up* 8. Great Pretender- Good, sounds kinda like N*SYNC again but thats okay. About Yugi and how his life and personality is always changing because of Yami... in a good way... 9. How Much Longer- Okay. Vocals are good, sounds kinda like Tea though. 10. You Better Fear Me- CREEPY! good... but CREEPY! * Phych!* Actually it is kinda a turn off, but you get used to it. Don't know what kind of music it is but its definitly about Anubis. 11. Power Within- Great. I actually like this one alot. Sounds kinda weird at first but like " You Better Fear Me" you get used to it. 12. Believe In- Great. Same as "Power Within", but it ain't as good.

Much Improved,
By Aria Lin (The 4th Dimension) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh (Audio CD)
1st of all, this CD is a HUGE improvement over "Yu-Gi-Oh! Music to Duel By." Adding more hip-hop songs reels in an age group that might otherwise have been very bored.
Secondly, to correct (if I may), the song "You're Not Me" is not about Yugi or Yami, but Seto Kaiba. It talks about his only friends being "ones he pays," and how no one could understand how his life is hard except for him. The BEST Kaiba song ever written, and my personal favorite on this CD. I like "One Card Short," a single that wasn't released on "Music to Duel By" for some odd reason, because it was in the show before that. "The Power Within" and "Shadow Games" are also fantastic songs that really get to what Yu-Gi-Oh is about - believing in yourself and not giving up. I really don't understand what #2 - For the People - has to do with ANYTHING Yu-Gi-Oh. That song is the only black mark on an otherwise shining CD. And, always remember...KAIBA'S NUMBER ONE! Sayonara tomodaichis! |
