To quote from the reverse side of the case
" Episode 7 ATTACK FROM THE DEEP. The fisherman duelist MAKO, the master duelist of the SEA DECK, baits YUGI into a duel on his own Sea playing field for a home field advantage. Can Yugi adapt to these new settings to turn the tide of battle? EPISODE 8 EVERYTHING'S RELATIVE. If Yugi is eliminated from the tournament, Kaiba corporation's crooked Board Of Directors will transfer control of the company from Kaiba to ( Maximillion)Pegasus! Kaiba's younger brother, Mokuba, challenges (after stealing another duelist deck and stars)Yugi to a duel not only to protect his brother's company'but to regain their (family's) honor! Is PEGASUS successfully manipulating possible against each other? EPISODE 9 DUEL WITH A GHOUL. Yugimust duel a magical doppelaganer (anti-Kaiba) created from the greed and power lust Yugi wiped from KAIBA's soul; but with his best cards resting at the bottom of the ocean ( see INTO THE HORNETS NEST). YUGI must discover a new strategy if he's to survive fake KAIBA's powerful BLUE-EUES WHITE DRAGON." First off I respectfully disagree with the harsh and critical reviews others have left about these three episode's. In ATTACK FROM THE DEEP, Yugi has a more benevolent and honorable opponent in Mako; which I found more refreshing than the malevolent duelist in past episodes. Yes there are flashbacks to THE HEART OF THE CARDS but there is a deepening plot developing in # 8 & 9 as Kaiba flees his corporate headquarters and seeks refuse in a secret underground control room to fight off the hostile takeover of his company by Pegusus. To bad the other reviewers are unable to appreciate this developing story. To follow the continueing storeline it is necessary to view this DVD.

With volume the plot thickens with the middle episode and duels on both sides which is a good way to do it. I always felt that it was really stupid that the duel with the goul is spilt up over 2 volumes at the time it would cost $40 to have both, but for the price of about $10 for both now. The main draw of this is the Mako v Yugi duel which has a great setting of an honorable opponet for yugi unlike the want to be evil bad guys like weivil and panik. With all that we do get so character devlopement for mokuba. If you are interested in the plot this is one of the best to get if your not then it is fair.

This DVD is so cool! Now you have all of your favorites scenes compacted into this convient DVD! And of all the best T.V. shows its YUGIOH! I myselfused to despise YUGIOH but now I love it! This one is great too! In here it shows some of YUGIOH's must challenging duels before he went into the castle! This is also great for another reason. Now instead of having to wait for next week or tomorrow for the next exciting episode you catch watch thase when you choose! A MUST HAVE FOR SERIOUS AND NOT SERIOUS DUELERS ALIKE! AND ITS GREAT!

The other review is really detailed so i probably wont get too detailed. ok for the first one its mako vs. yugi it is kind of a difficult battle but yugi wins next episode mokuba (Kaiba's little brother) Plans to defeat yugi in a duel before pegasus does because if pegasus does ownership to kaiba corp will be his! The final episode At least im pretty sure it might be different for dvd Anyways Yugi has to face kaiba's ghost or so they think but if your buying this dvd you might as well by vol. 4 "give up the ghost" because this ends at a to be continued but over all i think they are ok episodes.

This is a totally pants anime. You shouldn't even call it anime, there is hardly any character animation, it's all talking and implied still shots. This might be good for small children, but if you want a real anime buy: Pioneer's Uncut Sailor Moon (Watch it in japanese) Maho Tsukai Tai Evangelion Trigun Cowboy Bebop All of the above have acclaim and are of high quality Treat yourself to something that wasnt cooked up to sell trading cards!

Wow,I bought this, thinking I was buying one of the premire anime's of our time considering it's imense popularity. Boy was I wrong! To begin with, the production qualities of this DVD are just as low, if not lower than Dragonball Z. Not only is the story ridiculously trivial, but the characers lack any purpose or emotion that I would consider to be of worth. If you want a show that is of any significance or makes you think buy a DVD's from other great series. Berserk, Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop and X.
