4.0 out of 5 stars
YuGiOh WC2007 + Nintendo DS = wonderful matchup, August 2, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2007 (Video Game)
What's good about World Championship 2007?
[1] In-game A.I. is more intelligent than in previous YuGiOh video-games.
[2] Many newer cards are available in-game, like Card Trooper.
[3] Other cards, duel puzzles and ghost characters are WiFi downloadable.
[4] Leaderboard characters can be downloaded as in-game ghosts to duel.
[5] Nintendo WiFi allows one to battle with friends/strangers worldwide.
[6] Several Banlist settings are available: Sept 06, March 07 and WC07.
[7] Interact with Nightmare Troubadour to unlock hidden characters.
[8] It includes characters from "YuGiOh: GX" & the original YuGiOh anime.
[9] More duel disks and clothing options unlockable; player customization.
[10] Extensive tutorial mode helps beginning players.
[11] Defeat lower level in-game characters 5+ times = unlocked characters.
[12] Many recipies can be saved; deck-editing is easy via touch-screen.
[13] Playing via the touch-screen is LOTS of fun.
[14] 3 free promos: Exploder Dragon, Spell Striker, D-Hero Disk Commander.
What's bad about World Championship 2007?
[1] Cards/sets released after the game release are not currently avilable.
[2] Some older cards that would be useful in-game are not available.
[3] In-game character texts (speech bubbles) get repetitive/annoying.
[4] One must try completing challenges to unlock more hidden packs.
[5] Nintendo WiFi battles are sometimes lopsided in their rankings.
[6] WiFi disconnections (deliberate or accidental) often = rank loss.
Overall?
Though annoyingly difficult once in a while, this game represents the best simulation of the actual Trading Card Game to-date. If Konami would enable downloads of newer sets in-game (e.g., Force of the Breaker), it would be darn near perfect. A MUST BUY for YuGiOh video-game lovers, and definately worth a rent/eventual purchase for those more accustomed to the actual trading card game.

good game no storyline yet, March 27, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2007 (Video Game)
playing through this game there is no story line... just duel after duel...
strictly for those who play and like yu-gi-oh
i guess it's a good thing cuz the space they would have spent putting in animations etc. go towards cramming more cards on the disk
much better ai than nightmare of troubador...
and the cards are actually still worth something!
