Product Description

KINITO Ninja is a white knuckle side scrolling action adventure. The player’s goal is simple: run head long past obstacles, slash past enemies with your Katana, and get as much treasure as quickly as you can through sixty unique levels! As addicting as it is engaging, KINITO Ninja also boasts beautifully stylized professionally rendered cartoon graphics, smooth gameplay, and seamless in-game animation.
Gamers aren’t tied down to a single hero in this game. Instead, they’re free to either play as an intense Afro Samurai or as a swift Geisha Warrior. KINITO Ninja itself is very intuitive and straightforward, ensuring that every level of player can jump right into the action. Characters automatically move forward, so all you need to worry about is jumping, ducking and slicing at the right time. Players need to hone their hand eye coordination and sharpen up their reflexes if they hope to come out on top through all six of the game’s uniquely designed worlds!
KINITO Ninja is a well polished and well rounded gaming experience which features dozens of unlockable achievements and special collectible ninja combination moves to keep gamers motivated. Players can either battle against themselves via in-game leaderboards, or challenge the online KINITO Ninja community at large for ultimate dominance via fully integrated OpenFeint online leaderboards as well!

Game play:
After you select a hero to play you go to a color page in the comic book. It is a basic tutorial. The controls are a bit different as there are not really any buttons but there are quadrants of the screen that you can touch and have your character do something. The upper LH quadrant makes your character jump to clear objects and if you double tap the area the character will jump twice as high and further. The lower LH quadrant makes your figure slide to slip under objects. The advanced tutorial teaches you that lower RH quadrant swings your sword and kills your enemies and the upper RH quadrant destroys all objects that are directly in front of you.

As you run along try to collect the Yen coins in your path as well as the sushi to recharge yourself. Sometimes the coins and sushi are very close to obstacles that can kill you so be very careful or bypass the temptation to try to get the ones in dangerous locations.

Every comic book page represents a level in the game. Don't kill civilians, jump over them. The obstacles of the game come very fast and you really have to be ready to focus and play. Timing is crucial to playing the game and don't double jump when you don't have to as you may not have time to recover to clear the next object.

Like most games the further along you are the levels last longer and the challenges occur more quickly and you have to work on your skill in using the control scheme that the app uses. Killing your enemies takes good timing.

Main page:
* Chapters also contain the credits. There are 6 chapters in the black and white comic book you can view and they are Ricefields, Town in Flames, Dark Forest, Bamboo Maze, Ice Storm, Infinite Cave.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not gonna do it November 9, 2012
By Anne
I love side scrolled games. I have for years. I still own many for my consoles. So I was super excited to see a side scroller as today's FAOTD. Then came the permissions.

I will harp on this all I want. GAMES do NOT need to access information about my networks. Period. No ifs, no ands, no buts.

When I do find games that have appropriate permissions, not onl am i willing to get the free app of the day, but I go and check out the other games that company has put out. If the free app is good, I think about buying other apps from that company. There are a few app developers where I have BOUGHT THE ENTIRE LINE OF APPS.

So devs, please think about that when you are setting up your permissions.

3.0 out of 5 stars stop 1 star reviews because you have no clue November 9, 2012

the app has two permissions. Read phone state. this makes it so the game pauses when there is an incoming call. It does not mean that it listens in on your call.

the app is also given internet access. That is mainly for the ads on the free version but both paid and free have the same permissions. Also, so what? it has internet access. It cannot read and data on your phone other then knowing if you received a call while the game was on. It cannot install other programs as it was not given that permission..

So, know what you are talking about before tanking a games rating.

this is another runner game with a sword to it. I would not call it a platform game though.

2.0 out of 5 stars poorly programmed. November 9, 2012
Verified Purchase
This game caused all sorts of glitches on my nexus 7, especially when attempting to drag it into folders. Also, permissions are needlessly suspicious.

As for the game itself, other reviews handle the aspects of play and how the two side bars are not touch sensitive, which in a game about memorizing when to jump n stuff kinda sucks. The comic menu screen is stylish, but upon entering the game after the first few levels I stopped caring.

Uninstalled.

2.0 out of 5 stars why the extra permissions? November 9, 2012
By pgsdi
for a simplified scrolling adventure game I would like an explanation on why there should be so many socket permissions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but cumbersum on large screens November 8, 2012

its a fun game with fairly decent replay value trying to collect all the little extras, but it loses a star for having cumbersome quadrant based controls which makes it difficult to play on the note 2. mainly the large buffer zones on the side make it a bit of a pain on the large screen.

It was free what do you expect from a free app. The only reason I got it was because it was free.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh...okay
Played the game for a day or two (just to give it a chance) and it really didn't impress me. Not bad for little kids, but I won't pay money for it.

This game is totally Meh worthy. I thought it would be better, but there's nothing really wrong with it either. I just really don't have a lot of thought about it, sorry.

Nothing special but more than adequate. Fills the empty moments on occasion along with a bunch of others that I rate the same.

2.0 out of 5 stars meh
It's a nice little time waster, but not much of a meat and potatoes kinda game. It's a nice distraction for the younger audience. But It didn't do much for me.
