I bought this map to help with navigating around Cancun, the Riviera Maya, and Chichen Itza by car. It turns out that the free tourist maps of these areas not only show a lot more details, but they also more accurately show the placement of sites of interest to tourists like me. This map makes it appear as though there is no civilization on the routes between cities when, in fact, there are several communities, ruins, cenotes, side roads, beaches, and other interesting features that can be explored. The map would benefit greatly from smaller scale maps to help you get around the larger cities as well. Even the sites they do show are not placed too precisely. For example, on the map it appears as though there are ruins spread over several kilometers around the town of Coba when, in fact, all of the ruins are part of the same complex, within walking distance of each other. Maybe this map will serve you well for planning general routes, but don't expect it to help you navigate between anything but the largest cities.

Yucatan 1:500,000 Regional Travel Map:

The map is printed on a "paper" that ie easy to hold and is strong enough to not tear when exerting pressure when folding the map back and folding it other than the permanant markings.
The print is clear and small villages and coastal towns are easily read.

I've used this map for 3 trips and it is as good as Yucatan maps get.
Doesn't show all the roads and some aren't in the right place exactly.
But hey this is Mexico....nothing is exactly right. Not much signage in Mexico, especially in the boonies.

Ordered this on a whim as a backup before our trip to the Yucatan. After I recieved it I didn't think I would use it because it didn't seem overly detailed. We took it along anyway, thankfully! We got lost driving to Uxmal from Merida, the directions from the internet didn't work. So we whipped out the map, it got us right back on track! And it took us a road less traveled, which turned out to be so much cooler than just taking the highway!

Having already bought a map from these people...my map was also from the Yucatan, and my map was also worthless! and when I went to return it they had the map and chose not to refund my money, something I've never encountered from anyone when I've bought from Amazon! These guys told me to use the map as rain shelter, a.k.a. an umbrella, if I couldn't read the Spanish writing that should have been English as stated in the original article! how pathetic!!!

We read that there aren't road maps at the airports or gas stations in the Yucatan so we took this map with us. Are we glad we did! We found it to be quite accurate and easy to read. The local road signs gave us fits but with this map we were always able to figure out what we had done wrong...where we were...and how to get back on track. Very durable construction!

This is more of a geographic-topo type of map, rather a traffic and driving map. However, there are so few roads in the Yucatan that it works out really well. I found it to be perfect because you could see the geographic and natural features so nicely. It is plasticized, so it's waterproof and really easy to fold up. I'd definitely purchase it again.

I would consider myself an international travel who frequently rents cars in destination countries. However, I would not consider myself an off-road enthusiast. Thankfully this map clearly distinguishes between major roads and others that get rough quickly.

This map is a good map, its not the best one ive bought from here, but i dont feel i made a bad choice. If i was gonna take a map with me to the Yucatan i think i might bring this one and leave the better one at home. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles the other map has, but it all you needed was a highway/road map this would be the one id have in the rent-a-car or back pack. Theres no city detail or ruin maps, but its still a well made map that will serve you well.

A friend had an older version of this map and I wanted one for myself. Great map if your are traveling in the Yucatan, looking for Mayan site. Shows a lot of the less traveled roads. Arrived from Germany in less than 2 weeks
