Emulsion Sheet Review,
This review is from: Yudu Emulsion Sheets Original Yudu Film
My first time using the emulsion sheet was a disaster. I didn't understand that you have to peel off the plastic sheet attached to the green film after drying it the first time onto the screen. Then the second time around I tried to get the plastic sheet off I didn't dry the emulsion long enough and it started to peel off when I tried to peel of the plastic. I dried it further and it came of easier. But after I dried it again and went to rinse off the green in the positive image space, the emulsion wasn't dry enough and started to peel off in the negative spaces. Well, I'm now currently waiting on the design on the screen to dry and I'll put it in another extra 20 minutes just to make sure the green film of the emulsion doesn't rip when I am screen printing... Yikes!

Easier than scoop,

The traditional way to put chemical on a screen was to scoop a two part emulsion. These sheets allow you to skip that process in a neat and convenient way. Just wet the silk screen and place the sheet. There is still a learning curve that comes with silk screening, but there is no messy chemical mixing, scooping, or fumes. Better yet they are very forgiving when exposed to light so you have time to work with getting it on the screen without ruining all your work.

These sheets work really well. I have done my own emulsion screens with a dark room. I bought one of these Yudu machines and love it. Easy to use. Efficient.. great product.

I gave it 4 stars because it definitely works. I just didn't like having to be so exact. It will definitely make you upset if you mess up this step in your printing process. I thought these were overly complicated. Spray screen, lay it on, spray, remove plastic sheeting, spray both sides, squeegee... just too much to mess up (and I did). I had mostly good turn out but it was a hassle. I ended up buying a pour-on & squeegee emulsion, which worked better for me. I have experience with professional screen printing so it was easier for me to do what I had learned before. I also thought these sheets were more difficult to wash off the screens later. Could be because I did not yet have the concentrated YUDU emulsion remover... just what the machine had come with. If you are a perfectionist and you like a challenge, this product may be for you. The downside would be that it is more expensive than just getting a liquid emulsion. And it is NOT easy to cut these to a smaller size for smaller designs.

They might have been old...,

I have been enjoying our Yudu machine with good success. The sheets I ordered must have been old, because I have not been able to get a good exposure - they are cracking when they should adhere to the screen. Unfortunately, I will continue to buy at the neighborhood crafts store - if and when they actually have them in stock. I was really looking forward to finding an alternative source for this necessary supply! Oh well.

Yudu Emulsion Screen Quality Very Poor,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Yudu Emulsion Sheets Original Yudu Film
I am not happy with the quality of the "original" Yudu emulsion sheets. Two of the packages I purchased contained emulsion sheets which had bonded together and were completely useless as there is no way to separate them: scratch 4 emulsion sheets to poor quality control. My third package had two distinct and separate sheets, yay. When I went to prepare the screen as it shows in the video that accompanied the Yudu unit, the emulsion did not want to stick to the wet screen at all and there were air bubbles that refused to come out rubbing the underside with a paper towel (like the lady says to do in the video). I finally just sprayed the underside of the screen with a spray bottle which helped with the non-sticking problem but didn't help much with the air bubbles. 5 minutes later, after squeeging, squirting and wet paper-towel rubbing the emulsion still contains air bubbles on about 30% of the surface area. This emulsion sheet isn't staining the wet paper towel like the ones that were stuck together so I am guessing that it is dried out or improperly mixed. I am going to make a video of preparing the remaining emulsion sheet and post it to YouTube. I contacted Yudu after having issues with the first emulsion screens being bonded together and they have never replied. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with the quality of the Yudu original emulsion sheets and am equally unhappy with their lack of cutomer service.
