5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Yu-Gi-Oh! Enthusiasts, March 6, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: Yugioh 5D's 2008 Holiday Collector's Tin 1st Wave Stardust Dragon (Toy)
The product:
Any serious Yu-Gi-Oh! Enthusiast will greatly appreciate a Stardust Dragon. As a staple level 8 Synchro Monster, it is one of the most played cards to currently exist in the metagame. For more casual players, it still stands as one of the most significant cards to own, as it is the ace card of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds protagonist Yusei Fudo (Who doesn't want the Hero's best card?). Thus it is only natural that packaging Stardust Dragon with 5 booster packs and putting it all in a collectible tin container creates an excellent offer. The collectible tin comes with 2 The Duelist Genesis, 2 Phantom Darkness, and 1 Light of Destruction booster packs. These 3 sets all contain the potential to yield some of the strongest cards that are currently played in Yu-Gi-Oh! The tin itself is a nice add-in, and I use it to carry around cards when traveling with them. It is definitely solid enough to protect the cards, though I suspect a good enough bash into it will dent it slightly.

The service:
Ordering through Amazon was a wonderful experience as always. Granted Super Saver Shipping will take a few days longer than standard, it's always nice to save a few bucks as long as it isn't time sensitive that you have the product. As the product does come in a fairly solid tin container, the chances of the contents arrive damaged are very low.

The rating:
I gave this product a 5/5 in terms of fun, but that is relative to the fact that I have many people with whom I play this children s card game with. I would not recommend this product as an introduction to the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! nor would I recommend this product for anyone who does not have other people to play with.
4/5 for Educational Value. Yu-Gi-Oh! is an incredibly math intensive game. Even casual gamers will be constantly using their basic addition/subtraction skills to keep track of life points. More serious enthusiasts will break the game down into probability when building their decks, which all leads to a potentially intense math curve relative to most toys nowadays. In addition to this, the cards do place a heavy emphasis on both reading aloud and reading comprehension. Each card has its own specific abilities and rules, which must all be taken into account even when playing on a basic level.
1/5 in terms of durability. The tin itself is a durable case. However, it is only the case. The cards themselves are not of highest durability. Anyone who is giving this as a gift to children should consider buying Card Protecting sleeves to go with. Don't expect this product to be look new or even clean after 6 months of play without cases. If kept in near mint condition, these cards can have trade and re-sale value down the line. While it may seem a tad on the obsessive compulsive side, it can save you a good deal of money if you trade for cards instead of buying new ones, and nobody will trade or buy used cards that are not in good condition.
Overall rating 5/5. Yu-Gi-Oh! is an enjoyable collectible card game, and it possesses enough depth and replay value to keep people playing it until they find themselves writing reviews over the products on Amazon because they no longer receive it as gifts, but instead buy it with their own credit cards.

Happy shopping!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Tin, April 20, 2011
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Yugioh 5D's 2008 Holiday Collector's Tin 1st Wave Stardust Dragon (Toy)
I was very pleased to see that I got it one day earlier than the estimated arrival date. It's a very attractive Tin, and rightfully so. As you would expect it comes with a very nice Stardust Dragon Synchro Monster, 3 tokens, and then 5 nice booster packs. Needless to say the booster packs provided me with some great cards as well. I would say this Tin is totally worth the money and a good starter Tin if you're just getting into Yu-Gi-Oh! Synchro Monsters.

Very Nice. Would recommended any day of the week.
