4.0 out of 5 stars In no way Rare
This item is in no way rare, you can find pretty much anyone who was collecting when the cards started coming out who has this card as it was from the Starter Deck: Kaiba which was one of the 2 original starter decks to come out in the U.S. alongside the Starter Deck: Yugi. It may be slightly hard to find someone who is willing to part with it, but only if they still care...

Wish I would've known more about this card game. It seems the card is in fact rare however, not $30.00 rare! I finally found one at a local comic book store for $3.00, and the guy threw in doubles of it as well as some other cards. Shipping on this stinks too. Will never buy a card from Amazon again

As a card collector myself, the original first edition Blue Eyes White Dragon is a great very very rare Dragon card that has collector and fans on their knees trying to get this card. Since it is out of print, this card makes it worth to buy. The price that i would pay for this card new is around 10.00 or 20.00 dollars depending on the condition it is in. I bought 3 played edition of this card and they are used badly, but buying them new now that is hard to find. If you can get this card new or even in mint condition for a valued price then you should totally get it.
Don't hesitate to get this super rare dragon. Get it before it's gone for good.

I'm a 19 year old guy and I used to play this game when I was 7-10 years old. This was by far my favorite card. I saw this on amazon and got a decent rush of nostalgia. I would never pay $30 for it though.

It says its straight out of the starter deck, but when I received mine, it had scratches, a big wrinkle on the back, and the top was splitting. I love Blue eyes white dragon, that's why I ordered my own, but it was in pretty beat up to be "from the package" I recommend getting this card from somewhere else. The card itself is great, but the condition was bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not so rare? True. But valuable., January 27, 2011

Okay, I saw some pretty poor reviews for this card. Not a shocker seeing as the Blue Eyes White Dragon is common. It was available in the first American Yu-gi-oh booster set ever appropriately named "Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon". It was also widely available in the Starter Deck: Kaiba (one of the first two original starter decks), and was later put into the newer Started Deck: Kaiba Evolution. In addition, it has been released as a promo a great deal of times.

Anyone who has been collecting Yu-gi-oh cards for a while now probably has one or more of these guys in their collection. Is it worth the price? I would argue yes. If you're looking to buy a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, this is one of the cheapest versions I have found. I personally have one of my decks entirely built around this card. Its not a super competitive deck, but it is fun to summon a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and three Blue-Eyes White Dragons within the same turn (I have a combo for doing so).

I've been playing Yu-gi-oh off and on since it was released in the U.S. in the early 2000's and this card never gets old (even though in competitive play there are WAY better options, its still fun to use these guys from time to time). The reason this card sells for so high (compare it to prices in the 30's and 40's elsewhere on the internet) is because a bunch of kids see it on the show and want a copy, thus increasing the demand, thus making it more costly.

If you have a dragon deck, they're fun to pull out. All in all, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon might not be the powerful engine of destruction its card description boasts anymore, but its still fun to have around! I give it a five just for its shear vintage and never dying appeal!

As we all probably know the Blues Eyes White Dragon card is not very rare. All collectors probably have one. But this version of the card is worth the price. Why? Because the starter deck kaiba which this card is from is no longer available in stores, making this version rarer than the ones from something such as a duelist pack kaiba. The rarity of the card depends on what version you get and which pack its from.
