Having had the opportunity to use many spotting scopes at the range I decided it was time to buy my own. Being one of those people who has to read every review ever written on a product before buying I considered a variety of scopes and read the comments of dozens of buyers. The Yukon 15-45x60 consistently received high marks as a scope with quality optics at a reasonbable price. Amazon had the best price I could find anywhere and the scope arrived within three days of my order. I took it to the range the day it arrived and couldn't have been more pleased. In addition to the solid hard case that protects the scope in transit or when not in use there is also a tripod that actually holds the scope steady and secure. The glass on the scope is very good and I was able to see my target hits clearly. My opinion - this scope is an excellent buy for the money and should meet the needs of just about any shooter.

I have been using this scope for about 2 weeks for spotting coyotes and deer. I have no problems picking them out a mile away. I was able to pick out a coon laying along a fence row at a half mile without a problem. I thought I would have problems with the lens fogging up, with temps at -5 this morning, but haven't. I have had nothing but success with this scope.

I've used this scope a few times now. When trying to see bullet hits on paper it will work fine for you out to a few hundred yards. When shooting steel or other targets it is sufficient out to around 500 yards on smaller targets but I have used it to spot and confirm a 1 mile shot from a 50 BMG on a 18" x 24" target. The accessory package of carrying case and small tripod are good quality. The glass is middle of the line which is what I would expect for the price. Overall it's worth the price and a little better than similarly priced spotting scopes.

I was looking for a spotting scope to cover the range over 16x magnification for observation of hawks and falcons nests in Southern Brazil and Patagonia. Beyound a good optical performance, the device had to be lightweight enough for backpacking and wheater resistant, as it would be used outdoors under wheater conditions that varies from hot, umid and rainy topical climate to the cold, umid and rainy winter of south Chile. I found a very positive review of the 12-36x50 Firefall on a birding site and searching a bit more I found , and bought, this model and the promotional kit. The item was shipped overseas and arrived in perfect conditions as it came packed inside the hard case along the tripod, filters, soft case, etc. The Yukon Firefall fulfill all my requirements above, it is really light, well constructed, has a rubber armor and is wheater sealed. The optical performance is excellent at 15x producing sharp, bright and high contrasted images with color fidelity. Chromatic aberration and flatness of field are absent. This performance is maintaned over all work range of the device, but above 30x the brightness reduces, as expected, and some conditions like a steady tripod must be met in order to extract the best from the spottint scope. At or near 45x the depth of field becames very shallow for objects situated at near to medium distances making difficult to fine tune the focus but for distant objects (+200m) the problem disapears, I was able, also, to observe at 45x Jupiter and its four moons in a clear sky night. It is also a good device for digiscoping, I have shot a series of pictures with my point and shoot digital camera with very good results making this combination a simple alternative to my Nikon gear in many cases.
So, the conclusion is, this spotting scope from Yukon is an excellent choice for birding, wildlife and general outdoor usage given its performance and the price of the kit.

The Yukon optics package I bought has worked great for me so far. I bought the scope to be used at the range, but I haven't made it there with it at this time. It worked very well for me on a recent beach trip, watching the waves and storms as they approached. I would recommend this scope kit for it's pricing, and good starter scope. I found the optics to be clear, looking forward to getting it on the range to check out the 100 and 300 yard targets.

Eyepiece fell off the 1st scope right out of the shipping box. The replacement came quickly enough but eyepiece is very loose on it but it's usable. I figure 2 out of 2 problems with the eyepiece means why get a 3rd; odds are it'll have eyepiece problems as well. Should have spent more money and bought a quality spotting scope.

Well you might see good reviews for optics planet but they just might not deliver. It seems that you have to contact them when you think something might be wrong with your order. You will be assured twice that it is on it's way, but in reality it will never ship despite what they may tell you. I really feel cheated and will not purchase from optics planet again. The thing that really ticks me off is that the item is not in stock and not available, so why do you see that is available instead of out of stock... Bad on Amazon and bad on optics planet

This is my first spotting scope and really feel it is great value , well worth buying . I used at 50 to 150 yards so far the fine adjustment for angle and focus I am impressed and it is hard to impress me . I would like to use an very expensive spotting scoop to compare .

I have been reading the reviews from the most expensive to value spotting scopes. My purpose of buying this scope is for shooting at the range. This is a good shooting scope for the money. I have been using this several times at the range up to 100 yards. I could see the bullet hits clearly on paper tagets. During cease fire at the range, you cannot touch anything on the bench: You cannot touch your scope on the shooting bench mounted on that given small tripod for looking on the target during cease fire.

So, I have been using a 60-inch tripod away from the bench which gives me a clearer and steadier picture of my targets at 15 to 20 magnifications. All in all my purpose was served and I am a happy with my purchase. By the way, I love the window mount and the cases. Great buy...

This spotting scope was easy to set up and has a sturdy base. Comes in a nice case to store and protect your scope. Lots of other stuff came included with this although I will only use it at the shooting range.
