5.0 out of 5 stars Reading more than once
Excellent book.I read it several times. Gentlemanly, protective men (suitor and brother), brave heroine. Parents of heroine and brother passed away when they were young, but sister held it all together. Book starts when they are older.
This review refers to Carole Mortimer's Yuletide Engagement (sometimes reviews get posted to the wrong books.)

Thank goodness I got this book for free. Firstly, there is not one believable or even likable character in this book. Secondly, there is the plot, or lack there of. We are to believe the "hero", supposedly a confident and successful business man, sees his assistant's sister sunbathing topless and falls madly in love with her dispute the fact that they haven't even talked...

1.0 out of 5 stars A Holiday Train Wreck, April 7, 2011
Thank goodness I got this book for free. Firstly, there is not one believable or even likable character in this book. Secondly, there is the plot, or lack there of. We are to believe the "hero", supposedly a confident and successful business man, sees his assistant's sister sunbathing topless and falls madly in love with her dispute the fact that they haven't even talked yet. Cut to six months later, said sister needs a date to the company Christmas party because her ex-boyfriend, a totally over the top scum bag that rivals any Disney villain, will be there with his new fiance. A meager ten days later, on Christmas eve none the less, after a series of convenient coincidences and inane misunderstandings, the happy couple are deeply in love and making wedding plans. They all come off like horny teens having their first flings complete with jealousy, testosterone induced fist fights and female drama of the BFF variety. If that weren't bad enough this book is chock full of gratuitous exclamation points, grammatical errors, sentence fragments, run on sentences and assorted spelling and vocabulary mistakes. I don't think I have ever seen a colon in a romance novel before.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Yuletide Engagement Modern - Day Knights (Harlequin Presents) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really liked this book. It has romance, light sex,and just the right amount of turmoil with a Christmas theme. The hero and heroine are believeable. If you what a feel good book read this one. I personally have read it many times.
