Book Description

November 1, 2007

"I Need To Talk To You." Sarah Westerveld had been waiting years to hear those words from her estranged father. But now that he had finally summoned her home at holiday time, his fragile health rendered him unable to speak. What had he wanted to tell her? Sarah's deepest desire was to be forgiven for the past. Yet part of that past--and the future she dreamed of--included her father's sworn enemy, darkly handsome Logan Carleton. A man who knew that when Sarah made things right with her heavenly Father, all her Christmas wishes would come true.

More About the Author

A transplanted city girl, Carolyne moved to the country when her fiancee and now husband, decided he wanted to farm. The move took quite well and Carolyne learned to milk cows, herd cows, drive a tractor, can, freeze, garden, bake, cook and preserve. She and her husband raised four wonderful children and took in numerous foster children. Somewhere along the way Carolyne decided she wanted to recreate her own version of the romance novels she loved reading. In her writing she yearns to show redemption and change and the chance to start over. Coming home to faith and love is a thread that is woven through every story she writes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding and Giving Forgiveness, July 6, 2008
This was truly a heartwarming story! Sarah returns to Riverbend after receiving a note from her estranged father. One of the first persons she encounters is Logan, an old boyfriend, with whom she has unresolved issues. As he and her father have a heated exchange the older man suffers a stroke. And as the story unfolds, both Sarah and Logan must come to terms with past wrongs. And must learn, if they are to have a future to-gether, they must forgive others and themselves.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit slow, but good, January 16, 2012
Read this book in just a few hours. It was okay. The ending was good, but the first half of the book seemed kinda bluh...

I like the story of Marilee, Sarah's sister. I didn't really care for all the coaching stuff...

The author made a blunder in this story: the first kiss when after he stopped a kid from making Sarah cry - that's when they started dating, but later Logan stated that their first kiss was in the gym...

I was a bit uncomfortable with Sarah's choosing Logan over her father. That wasn't fair to either of them, and I didn't like how that was handled. Also, cleaning out Marille's room: That rubbed me the wrong way. I think the way it was done was a bit cruel...Still, it's a good story with good, strong moral issues...
