A Kasenetz-Katz production, OHIO EXPRESS (the album title is the group's name) from mid-1968 has one immense hit on it ("Yummy, Yummy, Yummy") and a number of fun album cuts that suggest gum isn't the start or end of the group. The other single from this album to chart top 40 ("Down at Lulu's") is also gum, but "Into This Time" is psyche, "The Time You Spend with Me" is experimental, and "Winter Skies" is mainstream pop. The album is recommended to those who like lightweight music with a lotta charm and a little edge.
