Great desk lamp that gets the light directly over your work surface and casts a broad, bright light. I briefly had the standard 66 light version, but since have traded for the high-power version which has much brighter output with only six lights. This version also covers a greater surface area, so you're not just lighting a small spot on your desk. Like the fact that it runs very cool due to the LCD lights, and I'm no longer sweating under a hot halogen desk lamp. I use the included desk bracket, so I have no desk real estate being consumed. My only criticism is the high price, but it really is worth the cost.

It takes awhile to get over the rather steep price of this lamp. What it does have going for it is: great looks, a wonderful light field, various brightness settings, and a design that gets second looks.

The things that niggled me are: the supplied clamp-on base mars wooden tables and (more maddening) when the top two arms are extended over my shoulder the lamp's base arm tips over flat. So it takes a few bonks on the head to get this lamp positioned just right.

LED lamp technology is not new and it is not expensive so it will take a bit of juggling thought-wise to justify spending this amount of money. Just depends on what you want.

The light is clear and covers any part of a desk desired (but only the desk, which is what it is advertised to do). Brightness control works well, and most importantly, the lamp generates almost no heat at all. Product does what it is advertised to do, and arrived well packed and complete in a timely manner. I am very satisfied with the purchase. Only negative is that it is possibly a little overpriced, but it does seem to be of good quality.

This is my initial review as I have just rec'd this lamp. In any case, I think the ad above has an error in the amount of LED's as there are only (4) four.
Onto the review; my first reaction is that it was smaller than I anticipated, but that didn't bother me. I am using the clamp for a mount and it is a simple, but quality peice. Also the arms holding the lamp in place seem to be of high quality, tight and allow for almost limitless adjustability. They stay where you put them. But the purpose for a desk lamp is mainly for, well, light! And while this lamp puts out some good light, it is not as broad as I was hoping for. Ideally I wanted to get rid of the torch lamp standing next to my desk, but if I set the Z-bar on the papers next to my keyboard and turn off the torch, it's hard to see my keyboard. I can't raise the lamp high enough to get good light on both the papers and my keyboard. I do like the four settings of light intensity.
If you're looking for a lamp to provide light in an area of about 36" x 20", this is a great lamp. If you're looking for one that has a broader ray of light, get something with more LED's. If someone made a lamp with aimable LED's and of this quality, they'd have a winner! I may need another one for my keyboard, but I can't bring myself to spend over $200 for desk lighting.

I will raise the review by a couple of stars if someone satisfactorily explains why the bar that has the 6 "LED" bulbs gets warm to hot, depending upon where it is touched, hottest at the end away from the hinge. I use it at max brightness, as lesser is insufficient for the tasks. Heat=energy=$. I have an LED floor lamp which has some 50 LEDs in one disk (it screws in like a light bulb), which is at least as bright than the Z-Bar, and never gets even slightly warm. I had an LED bed reading light with several bright LEDs, and it, too, never got warm. I bought the Z-Bar for my desk, and find it fine (if you are willing to pay lots for design), but expected LED economy, as it's used at least 10 hours/day. I have doubts that these are true LEDs. The mfr phone support says heat is "normal".

I purchased this lamp as a gift and the recipient was very happy. It contorts to a variety of configurations and doesn't take up a lot of space. Very pleased.

I like everything about these lamps. The light is very focused so they are not for illuminating a room but are great for reading and desk work. They seem to be very well built and packaged. Amazon threw my lamp in a giant box with a 35 lb bag of dog food banging around on top of it and it still survived without damage.

This lamp is perfect as a piano lamp. I have a Yamaha Clavinova, which has a flat top. This lamp sits perfectly, on the flat top. In addition, as the LED lights are arranged on a long and straight bar, it works very well for lighting sheet music on the piano's music stand. If you are looking for a cool little piano lamp, look no further.

Nice lamp, dimmer is great. Very modern and the adjustments are excellent.

The bottom hinge does not appear to have enough friction to allow you to pull the lamp assembly to far fowward. It appears to be adjustable but I can't tighten it any more.

I would buy this again is you want to spend the money for a clean white light LED lamp.

I received the lamp yesterday, and unfortunately it doesn't work. I'm pretty sure I connected it correctly - didn't work. Then my roommate tried connecting it (just in case I was doing something dumb) - didn't work either. I don't think anything was damaged during shipping; I think it's simply a defective product.
It looks nice, but I'm not paying $135 for a non-functional ornament.
