This was an impulsive purchase of mine, the theme sounded good and it didn't appear to be confusing and rule fiddly. Still, for a deck of cards and cardboard tokens, it is a bit pricey, box it comes in is very nice and sturdy though. I do hate it when I get a card game and it has a flimsy box to try and smash the cards back into. Anyway, the game is simple to understand and play, and it does require thought, so I am glad it isn't mindless. I played it with 2 and 3 players, and 3 is definitely better, but it works with 2 also.
There are 4 different colors of cards in the game, one for each garbage type, blue, orange, yellow and green. You play as a garbage truck driver and you have to manage your truck load effectively and 'dump' your garbage/cards into one of 4 collection sites. You start with 3 cards in your hand and your turn consists of discarding card/s into one of the four sites. A blue card would have to go at a blue collection site. The garbage cards will either have one or two items on them, i.e. the blue card has bottles on them, either one or two on a card. When you discard onto a site and that site acquires a total of 4 items, i.e. 4 blue bottles whether its 4 single cards or 2 cards with 2 bottles on them, you throw out that garbage collection and collect a token with a number on it..thus you get points. But, each time you play a card, you have to take a pile of cards that accumulates above the garbage collection site, based on what is in the site. So, you put down a blue 2 bottle card on the blue site, you then count the bottles there (2) and always add +1 to that total and deal out those cards above the site, thus the next player to add to the blue site would pick up those 3 random cards. The trick is to not get more than 5 cards in your hand as you then have to illegally dump them from you hand to keep it at 5. Each 'dumped' card costs you one point. There can never be more than 4 cards in the pile that you have to pick up, so it can be played that you never have to dump, but it is hard.
The game requires you to figure out best where to discard so you don't pick up too many cards and so you don't give the next player easy points. My 7 year old could play the game, even though it says 10+ on the game.
I like it overall, don't regret getting it, so that is always a plus.
Sorry if it sounds confusing, once you lay the cards out and see how it works, it flows easily and makes sense. Really.
