Book Description

April 1, 2009 Barron's E-Z
Known for many years as Barron's Easy Way Series, the new editions of these popular self-teaching titles are now Barron's E-Z Series. Brand-new cover designs reflect all new page layouts, which feature extensive two-color treatment, a fresh, modern typeface, and more graphic material than ever-- charts, graphs, diagrams, instructive line illustrations, and where appropriate, amusing cartoons. Meanwhile, the quality of the books' contents remains at least as high as ever. Barron's E-Z books are self-help manuals focused to improve students' grades in a wide variety of academic and practical subjects. For most subjects, the level of difficulty ranges between high school and college-101 standards. Although primarily designed as self-teaching manuals, these books are also preferred by many teachers as classroom supplements--and for some courses, as main textbooks. E-Z books review their subjects in detail, and feature both short quizzes and longer tests with answers to help students gauge their learning progress. Subject heads and key phrases are set in a second color as an easy reference aid. Topics covered in Barron's E-Z Physics include motion, forces, energy, heat, wave motion, noise and music, electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic waves, the properties of light, and an introduction to nuclear physics.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great companion to classroom text, January 8, 2012
This review is from: E-Z Physics (Barron's E-Z) (Paperback)
This book seems to get a bad rap(wrap?) on sites so I felt I should do a review of it. I bought it as a companion to physics for scientists and engineers. Physics for scientists and engineers is very technical and can get very boring fast; EZ physics progressed in the same order as my text so that was very helpful. Sure, the example problems aren't anything test/quiz like, but they are good for refreshing. The text is also very simple to read and worded in a "layman's" form. All in all this book helped me get a B in calc based physics with no prior physics courses or calc courses in my life, so I'd say its decent. 4 stars because it is not perfect, if I could give it something along the lines of 4 and 1/3 stars I would.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Book!! Don't buy it!, April 5, 2011
This review is from: E-Z Physics (Barron's E-Z) (Paperback)
I bought this book for a Physics class. I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. The book doesn't clearly explain a thing. Formulas are very confusing and it doesn't give enough examples for each problem. I've even found typos and incorrect answers in the back of the book. Overall, the book would be a decent supplement to a regular physics textbook. However, if you are using this book as your sole source for learning physics you will have to find other online sources (or books) to help clearly explain concepts.
