Product Description

This heli newly released in 2010 with an eye catching outlook. Silver blue canopy, cool streamline shape and looks like wear sunglasses. It even take care with night flying by installing some glittering LEDs! The most unique design must be its 2 rotors aside, recall me the gunship in Avatar! Maybe the manufacturer was inspired by Avatar This micro size 4 channels coaxial toy heli equipped with 3.7V 140 mAh Lipo battery and 3 axis gyro. Z008 is very stable in hovering and move in all 6 directions, achieve hand free hovering without difficulties. The alloy metal frame and elastic blade reduce the chance of replacement after crashes.

If your an experienced flyer, I would say this is a decent helicopter.

If you go the other way the heli trys to climb this is a bit more controlable and not as quick, but still very annoying.
just me
The fit and finish of the Avatar is very good and the appearance is excellent.

It's simply an excellent toy / value. It works near perfectly and has given me hours of fun! It's durable within reason and the 4th channel just adds to the challenge and enjoyment of living room IR control helicopter flying. Our little yorkie seems to enjoy it too. :)

Unfortunately I didn't buy it (this time) from Amazon. However, I'll compare it to the excellent Syma S107 to give you a baseline for the review. I use the Syma Syma S107 R/C Helicopter with Built-in Gyroscope Remote - Red because it is an amazingly fun, easy to fly and durable coaxial toy helicopter that SHOULD be your first entry into the novice RC micro helicopter hobby.

In case you aren't already aware of this, micros are very durable compared to the heavier and larger models. You are confined to the still air of the indoors but compensated with a very inexpensive hobby where initial cost and repair are low while bringing housebound fun to a new level.

The Z008 is heavier than the S107, 44 vs 38 grams. Other than the width, the sizes are very close. Both being coaxial makes them stable and relatively slow. However, the Z008 is noticeably faster in forward locomotion. The extra weight of 6 grams does two things. Descent is faster with the Z008. This makes it a "bit" more difficult to fly - in still air. It would appear the extra weight also diminishes the flying time by about 35%. The Z008 has a 140 mah lipo vs the 150 mah S107 so battery power is similar. The six minutes of fun after a measured 20 minutes of charging time via the USB charging cable is enough for me.

I bought this helicopter for my son who is ten years old. The unit is very cool looking and flies very well. I have a couple of Syma's and this unit flies just as good as them. My son isn't really an experienced flyer yet and he has had a few minor accidents with it. The rear rotor motor fell out, breaking the wires that were connected to it. It still flies, but doesn't go forward very fast or in reverse at all. The wires are so small that I cannot get the wires back in to repair the unit. I have never had a problem with the Syma's and they have taken worse punishment for longer periods of time. I paid 35 bucks for the helicopter and could have saved 16 dollars by buying a Syma and would have gotten more fly time with it. They are the exact same size and fly very similarly. If your an experienced flyer, I would say this is a decent helicopter. If you are new to flying I would definately not recommend buying this because it doesn't seem to be as durable as other helicopters that are less expensive.

I have 2 S107's and I am crazy about them. I bought the Z008 because it is a 4 channel & I thought it would be fun to have the side to side movement. That being said the particular one I received has very little movement side to side at all. Almost zero. It's possible the side fan motors on mine are not as powerful as some folks got. The main rotors and forward & back movement are fine. It looks cool but is doesn't do what I bought it for. (the side to side motion). The battery doesn't last as long as S107 either because of the extra weight. I wish now that I had bought the 4 channel Drift King instead of this one, but I liked the "Avatar" look of this one. The throttle on this one is far touchier than the S107 as well. It goes from zero to ceiling slamming without much adjustment in between. I did get used to it and was able to control it but it was far more difficult to maintain a consistent height on this one than it was on the S107. The motor on this one has very strange high pitch that some may find annoying. I didn't mind it too much, but my GF couldn't stand it. It actually affected her physically and made her nauseous and nervous. I couldn't fly it in the same room with her in it. The S107 doesn't bother her at all. The motor pitch on the S107 is much different and lower. While this heli is fun to fly and more of a challenge to fly, which I enjoy, I would not recommend this to a beginner or anyone who just wants to have a relaxing, slow, gentle - more controlled flight like you get with the S107. As far as durability I crashed quite a few times while getting used to the throttle and like the S107 it held up great. Nothing has broke or needed to be replaced yet. The flight characteristics are much different from the S107 especially because of the twitchy throttle.Read more ›

This is a great helicopter. I just got into the r/c helicopter hobby, I have been flying a 3ch copter. This is my first 4ch copter, it took a little getting used to. I love the precision of the copter controls. This is definetly a must for first timers like myself or even and advanced flyer, a lot of fun.

Nice product, however and unfortunately, it was dead within hours of turning it on. Will not handle a crash. Felt like I wasted my money.
