I've owned the Zagat Restaurant Survey and found it invaluable for finding new and interesting restaurants in NYC. The reviews are based on surveys by ordinary people like you and I. If you need some help finding a good restaurant or a place to hang out at night, this program is a must have for you. Many times I've found myself with a friend trying to figure out where to go, and didn't have the Zagat Survey book on me. Now with this program, I'll never have that problem again since I almost always carry my PocketPC. The CD comes with both the Restaurant Survey and Nightlife Guide. The CD includes most of the major cities in the US and Canada. When you buy this program, you get a 12 month subscription to Zagat. You have to activate it when you install the program. The software on the CD comes for both PocketPC and Palm handhelds. I own an Ipaq PocketPC, and was able to install the software easily. It does take a relatively hefty 4 megs of space. The great thing about the Zagat Survey is that I can sort by price, food rating, or service. Personally, I like to sort by price and then scan for the best food ratings next. In addition, you can search by neighborhood, cuisine, or most popular. Obviously, Zagat doesn't list every restaurant or hangout in town, but it does have the most popular and famous places. I highly recommend this product if you need help sometimes in figuring out where to eat or hangout.
