This product is not a plastic "static-cling" screen protector. It has adhesive on the back, and is a flexible rubbery material. As a result, it has slightly more resistance when running your finger across it. It is not very hard to install if you follow the instructions, but for those who don't like to use the "wet" method for putting on a screen protector, it might not be for you.
Since the film has adhesive on the back, once lint got on it, it's very hard to get off. I tried to get it off like the way I do with "static-cling" types by using tape, but the lint remains stuck on the screen. The advantage of the rubbery and flexible characteristic of the film makes it easier to adjust the film after you put it on, as long as the liquid has not dried.
The film is not entirely smooth like a hard plastic film, thus you may see slight texture when holding it at an angle - it's not very noticeable and may not matter much to most people. When I cleaned it by wiping it, I think it left a scratch/scuff mark on the film - despite it says "scratch-proof". Hard plastic films that I've used on other devices, because some have slippery and smoother surface, do not leave scratch marks as easily.
Honestly, I'm a little disappointed in the product due to the price and the hype around it. I'd be better off getting the plastic "static-cling" protectors that I've used before that are cheaper.
Pro:
- Flexible, easy to install and adjust
- Leaves no residue when removed
- Protects the screen
Con:
- Seems to leave scratch/scuff marks easier than hard plastic
- Rubbery thus more resistance running finger across the screen
- Adhesive on back prevents removal of lint
- A bit more expensive than plastic "static-cling" protectors
