I am very pleased. After reading all the mixed reviews, I figured out that you just need to be really careful and read the directions when apply the shield. You need to wash your hands first, also make sure the ipod is nice and clean. So I first used a cleaning spray and soft cloth to get rid of the fingerprints. Then I carefully pealed the adhesive paper off the shield and using the spray bottle I made sure that it was drenched on both sides. The I applied the shield very carefully, I lined it very carefully from the button side of the itouch to the other side. Then I used the squeegie and got most of the water out. Kept on looking for little bubbles and started from the center of the ipod to the outside when smoothing it out. Then I blotted with a paper towel. And it looked pretty good. I let it set for 12 hours, and the next day I was very impressed. First it prevents fingerprints, which is great. And it looks outstanding. It really looks like its very durable and will protect the face. So far I am pleased. But it requires patience. I can imagine if you are not careful and in a rush, it good get quite ugly.

So my word of caution, read the directions carefully and be patient. Also you need good eyesight for close up work and steady hands.

I do not recommend this product.

The screen protector was difficult to install, even after watching the video and being very careful to apply it properly. I wound up scrapping one screen protector and discovering the company does not refund money when you mess up putting it on your device. It makes sense to have a policy like this when you're selling a product that is so easy to damage during installation. I wound up swallowing my pride and ordering another. This time, it went a little better.

A few comments;

1) Even after laying the screen protector on my iPod properly, there were some scuff marks that I made with the applicator that did not smooth out over time.

2) The material is sticky to the touch, and your finger does not slide over it as easily as it does on glass.

3) The protector is very durable (i.e., thick).

4) In the end, I decided to remove my InvisibleShield in favor of a Griffin screen protector that, in my opinion, increases rather than decreases the functionality of the touch screen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Invisible Shield or Sucker Born Every Minute (yes, that's me), April 11, 2011
This review is from: ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Front) (Electronics)
I can't believe how much money I spent on a front and back screen protector when I could have gotten something of the same quality from an office supply store for a couple of dollars. Don't let Zagg's propaganda fool you. There is nothing special about this Invisible Shield. Putting the darn shields on was like doing brain surgery- took me an entire evening and it still turned out terrible. Bubbles, bubbles everywhere under the shields. For me the worst insult was that this very expensive shield wasn't even cut properly for the shape of my Ipod touch. I called Zagg right after applying the shields and complained about the terrible fit of the shields and they just gave me a lot of blah, blah, blah that they were working on that, but not refund or even replacement set. I knew that with time the shield would start peeling off at the corners and I was right. Zagg's guarantee is non existent. Couldn't find my order in their records. In addition, after only moderate use for a few months, the front shield started showing deep scratches and I treated my Ipod like a little baby. So goodness knows how that happened. What a shield!! Might as well wrap your Ipod in a napkin. Folks, don't waste your money. I personally wish Zagg would go out of business, but as the saying goes- there's a sucker born every minute and I was one of them. Please learn from all of the negative reviews on this product and don't become a Zagg sucker yourself.

1.0 out of 5 stars horrible product and waste of money, May 17, 2010

I paid $20 for this screen protector, which was a total ripoff. The screen protector is so sticky that it makes it VERY difficult to apply to the iPod. The screen water-based solution just makes a bigger mess out of the entire process. I followed the directions step by step, now the solution has damaged the button on the iPod. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this product. I now have a $5 screen protector that works just fine!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, terrible, terrible waste of money, April 13, 2010

This is a terrible terrible waste of money and time. The only way to get this to work is by spending a quarter of an hour very carefully attaching the screen protector to your new Ipod, using water to affix the thin plastic shield. But if you get any water into the device, you've junked your new Ipod. And if you should stretch the thin plastic shield while applying it to the Ipod, you've junked your fancy new screen protector. And no, they won't replace it if you mess it up during installation.

There's no real need for this. There are perfectly acceptable screen protectors available for under $2 apiece online. I can't imagine why I spent this much money on this; I can only hope that others won't make the same mistake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best iPod Touch Protection, April 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Front) (Electronics)
Invisible Shield is great. I've been the proud owner of an iPod Touch for over a year. Last year, I purchased an Invisible Shield to protect my iPod's screen. The protector held out for the whole time, and stayed in crisp condition. The adhesive stuck and held tightly to the screen and you could barely notice that there was anything on the iPod. There were no bubbles that appeared at any time whatsoever for the whole year. When comparing the feel of a normal iPod or iPhone's screen to one with an Invisible Shield, the one with the shield felt slightly "rubbery", if you will. This rubber feeling is no problem at all. The touch-sensitivity of the iPod isn't affected by the thin layer over the screen, plus the rubber "sticks" to surfaces, so if you put your iPod face down on a desk and tilt the desk, it wont easily slide off. If you take the iPod from a cold environment to a warm one without the shield, the screen fogs up, and you have to repeatedly wipe the condensation from the surface. The invisible shield more or less retains the iPod's heat, and I've noticed that when I come inside from skiing, from example, the iPod never fogs up and keeps crystal clear. Application is a bit of a precise exercise. After applying the Invisible Shield "liquid" to your fingers and the adhesive backing of the shield, you have to be careful applying it to the device. The more liquid applied to the adhesive, the easier it is to move the layer around, but the longer you have to wait for the shield to dry. It is easy to remove and re-apply the layer. I took my first shield (after a year of service) and removed it from my screen to replace it. Then, after I applied my new one, I applied the old one to my friend's iPod Touch, and the layer stuck tightly and is now protecting his device. The only downside I have found is that you can get deformations in the layer. Things that press tightly against the shield can slightly alter the application, creating divots. They blemishes are hardly noticeable and don't interfere with touch-sensitivity.

I just got it and put it on and it looked great then it all the sudden my ipod touch's audio and touch screen stopped working. I went to apple and they said it was water damaged. The water that you use to apply the screen can get in through the buttons and ports while you are applying the protector. my $300 32 gig ipod is now TRASH!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars save your money, February 4, 2011
This review is from: ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Front) (Electronics)
I didn't buy this product from Amazon, but had such a horrible experience with it that I wanted to leave a review. I found the product VERY difficult to install - the directions state that it can be repositioned, but this is simply not the case - once it's stuck, its stuck. I ended up with a misaligned product and large air bubbles. Even if one is able to get the item properly installed, the other aspect I did not like is that it is thick and has an orange peel texture (like a coat of spay paint) - it is not smooth, and certainly NOT INVISIBLE. I ended up peeling the thing off and throwing it away.

This is the best screen protector I have been able to find. The problem with the product is getting the shield onto the screen. I succeeded with one iPod and failed with another eventually losing the second screen protector. I recommend the product but make sure you follow the instructions to the letter and be patient.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thick, Grippy, and hard to put on..., November 27, 2010
This review is from: ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Front) (Electronics)
I have to agree with most of the reviews here. If the shield is put on properly (and that is a BIG if) it looks like it holds up well to scratches and after some testing it does hold up as advertised.

Now that being said the template they have you use is useless... If you provide a template to line up the ipod and the shield you would think it would match either the glass size or something... no you have to gauge on your own an equal distance from each side and the same distance from the bottom... Expecting the Align Here part of the template meant align with the bottom of the glass not 2 mm from the bottom of the glass I had to reapply the shield. Do not try to apply this shield more then 2 times it will cause what look like divits in the shield.

I thought $20 was a but much but thought hey maybe there is more then one in the box or the shield will hold up better than my last one. So moral of the story take it slow, or buy another brand. The shield that came with my iLuv case was easy to put on and effective for a year of pocket travel a 3 year old and a 7 year old. Also there appears to be a slight orange peal affect to the screen now, which I do not like either. Others have complained about it begin to grippy, it is more grippy then you would expect but I would not say it is that much different then the thinner cheaper ones. Me on the other hand once I find another shield this one is going in the trash as it looks worse than the one it replaced because of the stupid template.
