I have used this item about 40 times so far in 4 weeks for about 5-10 minutes each time. I am still on the 1st set of batteries (I actually purchased rechargeable batteries)and have not recharged them yet. I feel the pump is excellent and if you have enough water,(a five gallon bucket or tub) you can certainly get a quality shower. There are several reviews about the clasp on the battery case breaking easily, and the case being cheaply made--although I agree to some degree, the clasp can be reattched easily. It doesn't hurt to place a rubber band around it, but not necessary. I would suggest that you open the case after each use (unclasp 'lock')to keep the batteries from discharging when not in use.I think that's why my batteries have lasted so long.

Like many people, sadly I lost my home, and live in my car. I was freaking out about not being able to shower; so this pump has been invaluable to me. As a female, I appreciate being able to keep up my hygiene with no one being the wiser. As long as you have some form of water source, this is an excellent product. I purchased 2, in case I can't find them in the future. Placing a plastic bag over the battery case is a good idea, because no matter no hard you try to be careful, the case gets wet unless it's far enough away from the water source. Be sure to wipe down the outside of the battery case after each use, the drain all the water from the hose, by lifting the pump and battery pack higher than the spray nozzle. Be sure to do this when storing, otherwise the hose will get slimy on the inside and smell moldy. I use this for showering, doing dishes, and washing the dog, but I am sure the uses are endless.

We camp a lot during the summer and after three days we all stink to high heaven. This has just the perfect amount of water coming out that you can leave it on during your entire shower. It also has a very long hose for tall people. I'm 6'4" and I can stand under it with no problem. We use a propane tank hooked up to our deep fryer for a turkey that we never used so we found that it is perfect for heating the water for a shower. After the water is hot we pour it into a five gallon bucket and drop in the shower pump and you have the perfect shower. I'm buying a second on just to have as a backup just in case. Battery life so far is no problem, still running great after 10 showers. Again awesome product! Recommend to everyone who needs a portable shower!! Five stars to ZODI!

Need I say more? I was beyond impressed. We had previously been wrestling every year with Coleman's finicky shower pumps that required constant priming and frequent new batteries. We put this one up with only a ziploc bag around the pump for some protection, and it never once caused a single problem. It even worked with very little water in the bucket, and never had any issues with air pockets when the water ran out. We'll be getting a second one for the other shower next year and will never use anything else.

The ZODI Battery Powered Shower was originally sold as part of the propane powered ZODI Camp Shower. I've been dealing with this battery pack/pump/hose assembly for over 4 years now in conjunction with a ZODI Camp Shower. It has more failure modes than Carter has little pills. When I pulled it out of the storage case on a camping trip this past weekend, the water impeller would not turn (it was working fine when I last put it away in May and I carefully blew all the water out of the lines and pump head). While I gently rapped the impeller head on a hard surface to try to jar it loose, the plastic nipple that connects the hose to the pump sheared off separating hose from pump (no I didn't rap the nipple, it's on the other end of things). After I sprayed WD-40 through the impeller's protective filter screen and rapped some more, the impeller finally began turning. The WD-40 residue formed a Deepwater Horizon-worthy slick on the water in my shower reservoir tank. I did manage to jam the hose far enough onto the stubby remains of the pump nipple to obtain a hot shower before it came loose again.

Other issues include the clasp that holds the hinged, spring-loaded top of the battery case closed against the body of the case. It rotates open and closed on two short, little plastic pins. After a couple of open/close cycles, the pins on mine quickly wore out. Now, to keep the case closed (crucial if the batteries are going to make contact) I have to hold the case with one hand and try to snap the latch in place as a loose clip with the other. I expect eventually I will have to apply duct tape to hold the case closed.

I purchased this shower while i was on R&R it has been well worth the money and i would recommend it to anyone for camping or for deploying on operations. I am currently serving in Afghanistan and have had no showers at all for my PB, buying this for use during the second half of my the Op Tour! It has been luxury as close to a real shower as i can get. This beats any shower bag hands down everytime.
