Try this app right now on your computer. You control the app with your mouse and keyboard to experience it like you would on your phone. Test drive this app before you buy.
How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

Product Description
zdefense
Pure Tower Defense

ZDefense distills the best elements of tower defense games. This game features sharply drawn, geometric shapes on a hexagon grid, recalling the timeless old-school designs of such arcade classics as Tempest and Breakout. This fast-paced game will challenge even the most experienced tower defense fans.

Tower Defense 101

For those unfamiliar with the addictive tower defense genre, the game mechanics are fairly simple. You're provided with cash to build towers of varying designs, strengths, and costs. Eventually your enemies (called "creeps" in this game) will come pouring out and make a beeline toward the exit you're defending.

Every time you blast a creep, you gain a little money to build more towers. You can also spend your money upgrading the towers you have. Every time a creep reaches the exit, you take damage. Tower defense games are essentially a juggling act of resource allocation and fast reflexes.

zdefense
Here come the creeps!
Stay Calm. Don't Panic. Keep Firing!

As creeps keep coming and coming, ZDefense evolves into a frantic maelstrom of destruction. You'll face 50 waves of enemies in less than five minutes. Defend an exit in the middle of the map from creeps coming in from all directions. You simply can't use the same strategy for every level; you must change up your tactics for each map.

ZDefense's maps generally have 10 to 30 waves of enemies. The full version features five tutorial, ten normal, and eight hard maps. There are five tower types with seven levels each. To make your life more complicated, a special tile called the Space Gate allows creeps to teleport from one gate to another.

Command the Creeps

ZDefense comes with a map editor so you can create your own nightmare scenarios to terrify your fellow tower defense fans. The editor comes with full instructions and customizable maps, creeps, towers, and waves. Customize the game mechanics, such as wave wait times, base life, money, and more. You can also take screen captures of your game to record your victories and show off to your friends.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why discover "Known Accounts"? August 22, 2011
By legrue

Sorry, I can't think of a single good reason why a game needs to discover known accounts on my phone, especially not a paid game. Until I get that reason, no install here...there are plenty of other games to play that don't do this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't support this rip-off product September 13, 2011
I'm a little bit annoyed that people can simply steal the work of others and feel no shame whatsoever. My good friend David Whatley wrote 'GeoDefense Swarm' for the Iphone. He did all of the game design, programming, and artwork himself. He didn't rip-off anyone else's product, what he did was completely original and unique. Now, I'm not saying you can't make another game in the tower defense genre, that's fine, but don't copy someone's artwork and game design in exact detail and call it your own.

How ironic that people are claiming that ZDefense is a rip-off of HexDefense which was, in fact, a rip-off of GeoDefense Swarm, an *original* game by another developer.

You guys have no shame.

2.0 out of 5 stars Grammar and Boring August 22, 2011
Verified Purchase
I want to like this game, but it goes out of its way to make itself uninteresting. The graphics are okay, the sound is okay, but there isn't a single thing that makes this game shine. There are also misspelled words and typos in a game that for all intents and purposes is supposed to be professionally made. Not impressed.

1.0 out of 5 stars permission August 22, 2011

why does this game need to know your. account. A tower. defense game has no reason to discover known accounts. The discription says nothing. that would explain the need for this permission.

3.0 out of 5 stars If it looks like Hex Defense August 22, 2011

The reason being, it is. I received a message upon trying to install "you already have zdefense installed"

After uninstalling hex defense, this installed without issue.

I sure hope the same development shop just changed the name, or someone is going to get sued.

Force Close every time on start up on LG Optimus V running AOSP's Cyanogen mod (GINGERBREAD).

Before some troll makes an ignorant comment about this phone being cheap and/ or old, just know this phone is neither.

When this app gets updated to work properly, I will adjust my rating accordingly.

[UPDATE] I just learned that the game uses the OpenFeint spyware to send your email address out. My phone blocks communications to OpenFeint's servers, which is probably why the game fails. If the developer was correct that OpenFeint was not an integrated part of the game, the OpenFeint part would fail and the game would start. That isn't the case if indeed the FC is the fault of OpenFeint's spyware components.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hackware August 22, 2011

Well, from what I'm reading I'm not the only one that feels concern.

In addition to being minutely diffwrent from another game, this piece of software also wants to access the accounts known to this phone. It wasn't enough to steal soneone else's stuff you gotta have us pay you to rip us off? No deal.
