ZTE nubia 5 Product Overview
The ZTE nubia 5 is engineered for those who want the latest in smartphone technology at a better value than comparable devices. Its sophisticated combination of hardware and software solutions, including an image capture suite that incorporates the fundamentals of a digital SLR, as well as unique gesture controls, offer a range of options. Everyone, from the photo enthusiast to the road warrior to the entertainment junkie, will enjoy the nubia 5’s handsome, industrial profile.
Professional Quality Photography And Editing Suite
This product's rear-facing camera incorporates the latest image capture hardware including a 13 megapixel Konica-Minolta 5–piece prevision lens, made of scratch-resistant sapphire. It features F2.2 constant aperture on both the front-facing and rear-facing cameras, a Sony CMOS chip sensor, a blue glass composite IR filter, a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) to improve focusing accuracy, and a 1A OSRAM high intensity flash with precision machining lens (users can thread precision up to 20m). This product's advanced combination of hardware and software creates an excellent dark field, as well as macro and color reproduction performance.
Three Photography Modes
Fun, Auto, and Pro modes provide a range of options perfect for virtually any scenario, with Pro mode incorporating the core function of a professional DSLR, including metering and focusing separation, level meter, and compass assisted composition. Other camera options include 4wa panoramic shooting, burst mode continuous shooting, intelligent stabilization, HDR, HD video camera recording, and face recognition. Both front and back cameras support auto-dynamic dark light, so when there isn’t as much light, the sensor will aromatically take a higher-quality picture.
Designed To Entertain
The 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor has an additional Adreno320 graphics processor to ensure speedy access to music, games, and movies that look brilliant on the 5-inch IPS full high definition (1920 x 1080, 443 ppi) Gorilla Glass screen. This product is capable of 1080p video playback, and you can control media and settings through gestures: skip through tracks by shaking the phone, silence it by turning it over, and put the alarm on snooze by waving your hand over it. Dolby Digital Plus, full DLNA, MHL, and NFC support make content such as music, movies, photos, and contact info easily shareable with home entertainment systems and other mobile devices. A 2300 mAH battery keeps users connected and productive all day long.
The nubia 5 is an unlocked 3G GSM phone, but offers 4G like speeds (HSPA+) on T-Mobile and AT&T networks. This phone is not locked to any specific carrier and comes unlocked by the manufacturer. This device does not come with a SIM card - it will require you to ask for a specific SIM card from your selected service provider. This phone is compatible with cellular networks that support GSM bands 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and WCDMA Bands 850 / AWS / 1900 / 2100. In certain areas, you may receive 2G data service wherever 3G data network is not supported - this depends on network compatibility.
Industrial Fit And Finish Complete The Package
- Low profile bezel and an overall minimalist aesthetic accented in red, with custom glowing-red fixed navigation keys, notification lights, and red highlights around the camera housing
- Matte finish is slip- and fingerprint-resistant, enabling easy one-handed operation
Top Customer Reviews
Here are my brief remarks, posted at CNET,
I have the phone and find this review well done. I would add, though, that the speakers are unusually good--music sounds surprisingly great, for phone speakers (if you try the phone be sure to enable "Dolby Digital Plus"--under "Sound"). It would be interesting if the reviewer compared the Nubia speakers to the HTC One speakers (which I have not heard, but hear are also very good).
I was considering turning the Nubia back, and getting the Nexus 5. That might make sense for some people--faster processor, LTE. But I don't think I will. Smaller thing: the Nubia is a lovely looking phone, I think. More important (to me): I expect the Nubia camera is significantly better than the Nexus 5 camera, and I expect that the speaker quality of the Nubia is much better as well.
I'd like to recommend it to my friends.
It has been a real disappointment, replacement phone #1 died after only 2 short weeks of being activated.
