Book Description

0121899306 978-0121899301 October 12, 1990 1
A "zzap"! is the mortal enemy of today's sophisticated electronics designs. A "zzaap!" can cause a circuit to "lock up" or "hang" -delete bits form a data stream or mysteriously insert bits that aren't supposed to be there or, worst of all, cause the sudden failure of critical integrated circuits. M. Bruce Corp takes you inside the often mysterious world of electrostatic discharge (ESD), radio frequency interference (RFI, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) to show how these can cause a bewildering array of transient problems or catastrophic failures.

The other review doesn't make much sense. Niether does the book; maybe that was the point. If you are a computer user and wonder why lighting causes computer problems. Here it is. Of course you'd do better to search the net or read the back of the surge protector box. Designers beware, the book is just too simple.

1.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading see "The ARRL RFI Book", April 4, 2000

This review is from: ZZAAP!: Taming ESD, FRI, and EMI (Hardcover)
If you think that George Hayduke or "Chukie" lives only in someone else's imagination, you need this book to stop Operant Behavior Modification as someone uses a low-power transmittier to tell you that you are in loooove with the guy next door. Or that you are The Lady In Red.

Sounds stupid, I know. The Federal Communications Commission works togeather with the American Radio Relay League to insure that no illegal transmitter sends your TV ( the trickle charge for instant on TV screens insures some sound from your TV speekers ) or your softly playing Sterio ( it's the sterio speaker wires acting as an antenna ) or your Sony Personal Walkman telling you to "...stop Flashing - or they will come!" as your befuddled, sleepless mind wonders what is going on....

Then THEY will tell you what is going on. And what to do, and whom to do it to.

A lot of gangs and cults enjoy this. Try a topic of Operant Behavior Modification and an author: Jim Jackson in his out-of-print book; "Seeing Yourself See".

Protect your living and working space from voices that no one will admit ti hearing - except as The Voice Of GOOOOOOOODDDDD!

Good Luck Out There!
