This product states that it is better than other models that are limited to the single wavelength of 253.7 nm but what it doesn't state is that most uv-c models are limited to that wavelength because it doesn't produce ozone which can be harmful at higher levels especially to individuals with compromised lungs. This is likely the reason that this product is limited to a 10 sec on time per use to prevent excessive buildup of ozone. While ozone is an effective deoxidizer like bleach, it also can be harmful to the skin and lung tissues just like chlorine gas. This may make it quicker and more effective at killing organisms as it states but with an inherent trade-off of safety. Thus, this may be fine for limited use but I wouldn't recommend it to people with sensitive lung issues or for disinfecting large areas in small rooms especially since ozone concentration can't really be detected by humans the way chlorine levels can.

This is a nice size unit. Hard to imagine how the smaller units could be effective. Would like to review the studies for the claims. Not enough information is given about how to use properly. I know that UV is effective otherwise I wouldn't have considered the product. But, it would be nice if there was a demonstration link. 10 second timer is nice feature but there is no override.

Internal rechargeable battery was defective. After following the directions for charging the unit, we tried using it. The unit would not hold the charge. Tried several more charges, but would only say on when it was connected to the charger. We specifically purchased it for a cruise at the end of this month after seeing in Sky Mall. Luckily we tested it out again before we took it on our cruise. It may have just been a "lemon", however, for the price of $159, I would expect the unit to work properly. Very disappointed.
