Great alternatives to Strip restaurants,

There are so many fabulous restaurants in Vegas, it's hard to choose where to eat on your trip. To add to the confusion, some of the best meals have astronomical price tags (I'm from New York; it's not like I'm unfamiliar with expensive meals, but in LV it gets a bit ridiculous). With the Zagat, we were able to find some amazing restaurants off the strip that weren't too pricey-- especially #1 ranked Rosemary's. And even when we decided to eat on the strip, the Zagat helped narrow down the mulititude of choices, with easy access to phone numbers to make reservations.
Along with a basic travel guide (Fodors/Frommers), this little book made our trip! Thanks Zagat!

Great Guide,
This review is from: Zagat 2007 Las Vegas Restaurants & Nightlife (Zagatsurvey) (Paperback)
As always Zagat comes through with a great guide to the best in dining and the best in night clubs in Las Vegas, which now may be the culinary capital of America. If you are going to Vegas this is a great guide for you.

This guide was full of helpful restaurant/night club reviews, maps, contact info, etc. VERY easy to use! Well organized! Wish Zaget had a book like this for every place I plan to visit! You will be happy to have it when traveling to Vegas. I bought it in advance and mapped out restaurant choices according to our daily plans. It was awesome! It helped make our whirlwind weekend trip (on a small budget) so much more enjoyable. THANKS ZAGET!!

Not "all that" - Vegas really has overpriced cuisine,

Ummm...have only used Zagat in Chicago in the past. Overall, food in Chicago is a better bargain, and better quality (in my opinion), than anything we ran into in Vegas. So...geography/destination makes quite the difference in my opinion.
Also, know what you're getting into when buying Zagat's....especially in a tourist-town where I would bet 90% of restaurants have 'hit or miss' days without too much concern. I would use the internet to Google menus before I would go with the often over-simplified descriptions used for Zagat rated restaurants to plan my next trip to Vegas. Small size and easy read...really make it fun to use for planning, but don't bet the farm on finding "the best" eats in Vegas based on this book. Word to the wise: ask the locals...better than Zagat's every time! |
