ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD is an exceptionally clear and virtually indestructible film that will protect your Apple iPad from unsightly scratches. Our exclusive, patented film - with Nano-memory technology - covers and shields your device, keeping it as pristine as the day you took it out of the box. The precision pre-cut invisibleSHIELD applies directly to your Apple iPad providing the toughest, most durable protection you will find. The invisibleSHIELD has its origins in the military, where it was used to protect high-speed helicopter blades from dust, dirt and debris. Now you can use that same powerful technology to protect your Apple iPad. The invisibleSHIELD is only .2 millimeters thick making it the slimmest Apple iPad skin or Apple iPad cover of its kind. It is so tough that we back it with a lifetime guarantee. So, if it ever does wear or scratch, we will replace it for free, for the life of your device. And if you ever need to remove the invisibleSHIELD, no problem; it comes off clean and leaves no sticky residue. Scratch-Proof, patented film.

Looking at many of the ZAGG reviews, the reviewers are correct that this is a frustrating piece to put on your device, either on an iPhone or iPad. The iPad one is harder to put on then the iPhone.

That said, this is the best protection out there, hands down, once you get it on. Follow the instructions, wash your hands, spray the spray on the plastic, both sides, and your fingers, use the squeegee, and "iron" out all the bubbles.

I wouldn't have an iOS device without this protection.

I believe that this is a superior product if it can be applied correctly. That means you must use extreme care in a very, very clean enviroment. You must ensure that your iPad is very, very clean and I suggest a very light amount of isopropyl alcohol on a lint free cloth as the final cleaning. Use a very clean work surface. Second, keep your hands very clean and wet while handling the vinyl wrap and yes, that means washing your hands thoroughly before hand. Third, do the back piece first. It's more difficult that the face, but cosmetically it's not as important. Fourth. place the vinyl carefully and make sure it is placed exactly where you want it before using the squeegee. Keep the surface of the vinyl wet when using the squeegee to avoid it pulling and dragging the vinyl out of place.

This takes a great deal of patience, particularly when working the edges and corners. Use the warmth of the palms of your hands to mold the vinyl. It will repeatedly detach itself until it starts to dry out and the adhesive becomes stickier. With enough time, it will stick and contour around the corners.

I confess that I didn't do a good job with mine but I know exactly what I did wrong. I've reordered that piece for the front and will try it again shortly. The back is a little rough, but it should work fine now. I'm really the only one that knows where it's not perfect.

I got an iPad 2 and immediately bought my Zagg invisible shield but I made the mistake of getting the anit-glare one. DO NOT BUY THE ANTI-GLARE!!! It does reduce glare and protect the screen but it destroys the image by significantly pixelating the screen. The loss of clarity is so distracting that it blurs everything and nothing is clear like it should be. I actually went to see a Zagg retail store (the one on the cart in malls) and both employees strongly recommended getting rid of it and replacing it with the non-anti glare screen protector. I did this and love the screen protector a lot. You will need to clean it every now and then but you have to clean the screen on your iPad anyways so its no big deal. For those reviewers who are moaning about loosing the glass like feel that the iPad has without the screen on it all I can say to you is Duh! You're putting a protecting screen on so obviously this would happen as it will happen with every single screen protector on the market because you're covering the iPad's screen! Seriously what were you expecting? The invisible shield itself is a bit troublesome to put on yourself but if you take your time and squeegee from the middle outward and follow the instructions its worth it and there's a ton of YouTube videos showing you how to put it on or remove it if need be.

Bottom line: the product works and provides a sharp clear image provided you DO NOT buy the anti-glare invisible shield (which is blurry pixelated JUNK) and instead buy the normal one which is wonderful. I also really like Zagg's warranty.

Side note: My father initially used the Green Onions Supply AG2 Anti-Glare Screen protector and hated it for the same reasons I hated the Zagg anit-glare shield and thereafter switched to Zagg's Invisible Shield (non-anti-glare) after playing around with mine.

I was worried about the reviews telling that it was hard to stick it correctly, but the installation of this stuff was very easy, you just have to wet every corner of the zagg shield and wet a little bit the ipad too. Dont worry about the corners, just stick it with your hand, take of all the water, and wait some time, it will stick. The looking and protection of this shield is awesome. I used this product on my iPad2 3G.

This shield destroy the smooth experience of the iPad screen. It feels like a gummy mess, making stylus and swipes a pain. This cover make nothing more that wasting your money and ruin the device user experience. I installed it then remove it after several hours of use. I am not going to let 30 bucks ruin the experience of a 600+ dollar device.

To say more, the texture is kinda corrugated, not perfectly smooth like the glass. It ruins the definition of the display and is a pain to assemble. Is highly probable that it will end up imperfectly installed wasting your time as well .

I like the Zagg Shields. I've bought them for two Iphones and was totally pleased with the results even after a lengthy amount of time. When I bought my Ipad 2, the first two accessories purchased were a case/stand and the Zagg Shield.
The application (despite the manufacturer's instructions) isn't all that easy, but since I already had experience with installation on the Iphones it wasn't quite that daunting. The Zagg comes with a lint-free cloth, spray and a mini-squegee. You make sure the screen is clean by wiping it down with the cloth. Once done, spray both sides of the screen and your fingers. Next step is to align the screen with the cutouts. When you finally finish aligning, you use the squegee to remove any bubbles under the surface. This is the tedious part since it seems to take way too long. Finally, once all the bubbles are gone you are good to go.
From what I've observed, the Zagg is there to stay. It offers serious protection to the most vulnerable parts of the Ipad and keeps the screen and other parts pristine. I've been using this device on a regular basis since it was released and the Zagg does a great job and it is a snap to clean off fingerprints, etc. I like the Zagg shield better than those commercial cheapo screens that need to be replaced periodically. My best guess is that the Zagg will have a longer life span than my Ipad based on my experience with the Zagg for Iphone.
