An exhibition catalog and not a monograph,

This review is from: Zaha Hadid (Paperback)
Only text up to page 51, then only images up to page 174 including photos, digital renderings, models, paintings of design, and a section, quite well representing Hadid's design of buildings, study project facilities, furniture, and industrial objects. The realized facilitis on photos include: Azabu-Jyuban Building in Tokyo of 1987, Vitra Fire Station in Weil am Rhein of 1990-94, LFOne/Landesgartenschau in Weil am Rhein of 1996-99, Mind Zone Millennium Dome in London of 1998-2000, Lois and Richard Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati of 1997-2003, Car Park and Terminus in Hoenheim-Nord Strasbourg of 1998-2001, Bergisel Ski Jump in Innsbruck of 1999-2002, Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg of 1999-2005, Ordrupgaard Museum Extension in Denmark of 2001-05, BMW Plant Central Building in Leipzig of 2001-05, Hotel Puerta America in Madrit of 2003-05. There are also illustrations of studies and renderings of most recent works in progress.
FROM THE PUBLISHER The book features color illustrations of designs and models, previously unpublished paintings and photographs of buildings at all stages of construction, as well as two previously unpublished interviews with Hadid by Alvin Boyarsky. Having first achieved international recognition through her striking images and designs, Zaha Hadid is now widely known as an innovator who consistently tests the boundaries of architecture, urbanism and design. One of her most important "testing fields" has been her drawings. Her reconsideration of the architectural drawing through nontraditional floor plans has had a major impact on all areas of design and architecture. Once considered not buildable, her projects can now be seen around the world, including major projects in Europe, North America and Asia. Hadid's most recent work incorporates smooth surfaces where walls seem to melt, floors curving upward, and ceilings that appear to compress, bend and expand. In her designs, architecture emerges not as an isolated object but out of the surrounding landscape and urban environment, and as a result of its users' movements and paths. Her work addresses "fluid geometries" and "artificial natures." A Beautiful Book,

This review is from: Zaha Hadid (Paperback)
Image gets precedence over text in this book from the Guggenheim.
(One exception: the Joseph Giovannini essay "In the Nature of Design Materials..." is exceptionally informative and well-written.) This book in itself is quite a beauty. A chunky, square-ish trade paperback on heavy double-thick stock (a variation of uncut pages) with French flaps, the publishers chose to showcase the Zaha Hadid images by framing them in matte black. Striking. This is a book that looks good and, because it is well-designed, is good-in-the-hand.

A Good compilation of past, present and future projects, sketches and models. an eye candy of her work without too much text (which is fine if thats what you want). however...the image print quality is not upto a crisp standard.
if thats not too much of a concern. a must buy for a hadid fan. (havent quite understood the binding system which makes the book twice as fat as it should be with a waste of paper!!!)
