Exploitative Bollywood at its Best,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Zanjeer (DVD)
Throughout this entire epic, I kept thinking 'this is something Quentin Tarantino would adapt.' Zanjeer artfully mixes equal parts classic Bollywood with gritty grindhouse cinema with a slew of thrills, chills, blood, guts, guns, elaborate dance sequences, goofy 70's clothes, and catchy tongue in cheek dialogue. This film also has historical significance as it ignited Amitabh Bacchan as India's premiere cinema hero. Its a little long (as most Bollywood films tend to be) but for any cinephile or appreciator of classic exploitive cinema, Zanjeer delivers in a big way.
