I have two perspectives on this doll:

First, my 4 year old is crazy-thrilled with it. She loves playing with all the gear, and wants to have the doll pee on the potty (not in the diaper) all the time. I really don't think she could be happier.

As the adult helping her, I'd say the doll is a flop: It's VERY hard to get the bottle in her mouth at the right angle, water dribbles everywhere, you have to be REALLY strong to squeeze her arm (!) hard enough to make her cry--no little kid could do it. I basically have to read the manual for every function every time. The "food" is disgusting--I wish I'd hidden this element before my daughter unwrapped the doll, because it's like thin glue. I'm dreading what will happen if/when the baby's "works" get clogged up--it's very hard to tell whether you've rinsed it out properly.

I didn't buy the doll to teach toilet training, and I really don't think it would work--too cumbersome, hard to undress, position on the potty. [From what I read online, these complaints are true about all the dolls that have this function.] Plus, she's a baby--what's she doing peeing on the potty anyway?

The doll does cry real tears, which instantly got my daughter acting out a drama in which the baby doll was crying because her mama (my daughter) "had to go out for a while." So clearly, those baby tears struck a nerve....
