This is a great product that takes all of the guesswork out of setting up and maintaining an electric fence. With the digital display that reads out to 100 volts, you can detect and correct drains or poor connections in your fence system before they become a problem. It's reassuring to see how much voltage is actually on the wire at various points in the fence.
MUCH better than the neon light type testers. Those are fine if you only want to spend $10 or want something that can bang around in your pocket without concern, but the digital tester is much easier to read and has greater resolution instead of to the nearest 500-1,000 volts like the neon testers.
So far, min has worked out well, even gotten a little wet a few times and works fine. I think the lead could be a bit higher quality, but it does work.

This device seems accurate in readings. When I first received it, I was very pleased. After using it for about 8-9 months, I noticed the wire connection for the ground was fraying; no way really to fix. When I tried to replace the battery, I was unable to get the casing closed no matter how I tried positioning the 9 volt battery. The price was good, but the long term value is not.

Not being technical I wanted to buy something that was not complicated and easy to use. This instrument is everything and more. It is idiot proof and worth every dollar I paid for it. It is very economical as it switches itself off thus saving the battery. Superb product and great value for money.Highly recommended.

I recently installed a hot wire in my pastures and purchased this tester to check the system. I found it to be extremely easy to use and very handy. Because of it's ease of use, I actually check the system with this tester once a month or more to make sure that the solar charger is working properly. It gives a digital readout on the voltage being put out by the base unit so I can check the efficiency at the furthest point for voltage drops,shorts, or ground issues. I would recommend this system to anyone installing or currently using an electric fence.

After using the testers with the little lights that are hard to see, this product has been much easier and faster to use. Well worth the money. Do be careful with the ground-prong because it won't stay attached long if you repeatedly jerk it out of the ground carelessly. Don't ask me how I know!

This digital voltmeter works as decribed for up to about 10,000 V. Easy to use. My fence has pulses over 10kV and this was the best tools I found for assessing the actual voltage. My only complaint is the retailer send me an obviously used product (small crack in housing and bent probe tip) as a new one.

I have had at least 20 different electric fence testers over the last 50 years, but this is the first one ever that that works and gives accurate test, and easy to use, see and read. It was a little pricey, but if it lasts a few years it will be well worth it. Very satisfied so far!

This tester works fine and accurately measures the voltage on your line. It helped me make modifications to my electric fence to improve the performance of the fence.
