This review is from: Zealotry and Academic Freedom (Paperback)
This work stands out from others in the culture wars and in the debate about PC for its excellent historical research. The history of moral zealots on campus goes back to the civil war era, claims the author. He identifies six different academic zealotries, with out current climate of "offend no one" and "flatter every vanity" as the seventh. On top of this, the author, who is a professor of law, includes a lengthy analysis of the history of the the legal and paralegal conceptions of academic freedom. A must read. |
