This reel fits all my vintage American-made fishing poles--Eagle Claw to Shakespeare--with no problem. I still own an older, original model 11 which I fell in love with for its price, smooth and effortless function, amazing cast-ability, light weight, longevity and like most reels, corrosion resistance, but eventually wore it out from years of use. So naturally I got one of these new ones with all the snazzy ball bearings. Casting and retrieving with it are second nature and it casts long and reels in fast. It is very ergonomically designed. If you know and favor trigger-operated spin-cast reels, you'll love this jem, and it is at least as smooth as my first one . Unfortunately it's mighty glossy and shiny (unlike my first one) and made in China, not USA, like Zebcos once were, so you may notice very slight imperfections, but overall it's very well made. I've tried four other micro, trigger spin-cast reels by other well known manufacturers and don't like any of them as much. They collect dust now.

I always wanted to try a trigger spin reel. Can't beat a Zebco for price and reliability. The reel even came with line. Stuck it on a pole went out fishing worked great. Nice quality and finish. It's not the smoothest casting reel out there, for the money it's a great reel.

this reel is solid.put it on my pole cast it out and its my new favorite.EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very pleased, as a matter of fact I was so pleased I ordered another one.It's not a cheap reel but its worth every dollar!

I bought this from Amazon and a Bill Dance series from eBay in the same week. Both reels had severe defects. The platinum had a broken piece inside that caused the line to be released even though the trigger was still pulled. The other had a small nick and rough spot that caught the line every time the line past it. Both were new and should have never left the factory in this condition. Since zebco makes their reels in china now, this is what we have to deal with. Amazon is great with returns, but it's still a big waste of time. I don't think I'll be buying another Zebco as long as their made in China

I wondered why my fishing magazines quit handling zebco reels,now I know. Sent it back,zebco quality has went south. Too bad I have some old zebco 33*s and they are still working, not bad for an inexpensive reel

This unit, as opposed to the non-platinum unit, is much much better. The other Zebco T11 don't hold a candle.

the cap in the back of the reel is very loose and comes off without much pressure at all. i thought i could just accept this major flaw but i realize when i'm adjusting the drag, my thumb will touch the butt cap soft/hard enough that it will fall off. this would be very problematic on a rocking boat, esp if it fell in the water. i've used other zebco's and didn't even realize the butt cap came off till this model. they need to make sure it is much harder to take off.

I enjoy ultralight spinning and wanted a closed face reel. I tried a competing brand which promptly failed: one snagged hook and the main shaft bent. So, I decided to go to Zebco, a company whose products I've used for many years - and am delighted that the quality Zebco is known for is still there. The 11PLT is metal in all the right places, casts smoothly and retrieves quietly. I Haven't had the opportunity to fish much due to drouth conditions, but now that it is September, panfishing awaits. If you've never tried a Zebco reel, check them out. I got mine through Amazon and am very satisfied with the experience!

This is a nifty looking little reel. I have not had it long but am hopeful the reel will resist corrosion. Casting and retrieving operation is very smooth. Because of efficiency of casting, my kids (ages 9, 10, & 12) prefer this reel over conventional spincasting reels. My only significant disappointment with the reel is the size of the seat as it is too short to fit most cost-effective retail rods. It took a lot of looking to find a budget-friendly rod which would support this reel. Consequently, rod options/choices were limited; I ended up purchasing a rod who's design was not my first choice.
