About Zebco
Watchmaker, barber, and inventor R.D. Hull founded Zebco in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1949, in conjunction with the Zero Hour Bomb Company. The latter company, which manufactured electric time bombs designed to fracture oil wells, was looking to expand beyond its initial product and its expiring patent. Zebco's maiden reel was called the Standard, and was soon to be joined by the Model 22 in 1953. The Model 11 and Model 33 followed, helping popularize the notion of landing larger fish with lighter tackle. Dozens of products and patents later, Zebco still pays tribute to the legacy of R.D. Hull with every rod and reel the company produces. The W.C. Bradley Company purchased Zebco in 2001, but the company headquarters remains in Tulsa.

solidly built and good casting reel,

I really enjoy this reel. It casts quite well, comparable to my baitcasters, and I have found it to be well constructed of solid metal. I would like there to be two models, with one having a larger reel capacity. If you need stronger line, the capacity becomes limited. I have not found the problems suggested by the other reviewer who was very negative. On the contrary, I found this reel to be solidly built, and a good value considering the cost of comparable baitcast and spinning reels.

Omega 2,
By Core (Somerset,KY USA) - See all my reviews The only draw back of the reel is the grade of line you can use, your kind of limited. But I believe Zebco is coming out with another version for bigger line, or has already done so. This reel has not disappointed me yet. Also I guess I should note, that I did not use the line that came pre-installed on the spool, I threw that away and put spiderwire fishing line on.
