4.0 out of 5 stars For Fans of R&B and Hip Hop's Golden Era, January 16, 2010

One of the biggest draws of this 1992 soundtrack was the inclusion of the hot Nas track "Halftime" produced by Large Professor. Bass-heavy and a perfect example of early 90's boom bap, this is the track that converted a good number of moviegoers into Nas fans.

Another interesting inclusion on the album is "Do the Digs Dug?" by Native-American Philly Hip Hop quartet The Goats. The track was produced by Joe "The Butcher" Nicolo, the same man responsible for the Cypress Hill smash "Hand on the Pump."

While The Goats will appeal to underground fans, notables on the compilation include Boss, AMG, MC Breed, MC Serch and Hip Hop veteran Kool Moe Dee. As the album progresses, it moves from rap to R&B, concluding with excellent baby-making music in the form of Portrait's "Precious Moments."

Despite only being 10 tracks, most of the songs in the soundtrack are right on the money. It's a great soundtrack for anyone interested in Hip Hop's golden era, and R&B in the same styling of vintage Boyz II Men.
